Cupid on Skis: Best Chairlift Pick Up Lines

Kate Christiaanse (Director of Accounts and Partner Management) tells it like it is:

Valentine’s Day is here, and love is in the air.  What more does a single skier or snowboarder want than to find that special someone who also loves sliding on snow? Knowing that, I can’t think of a better place to meet that person than on the chairlift.  You are guaranteed a solid 5 to…  Read the rest of the post!

5 Independent Ski Manufacturers You Should Know About

Kate Christiaanse (Director of Accounts and Partner Management) tells it like it is:

I grew up skiing in the east, Vermont to be exact, so I was a Rossi girl.  I became a Völkl girl I went to college in the Upper Connecticut River Valley, minutes from the Völkl US headquarters in Lebanon, New Hampshire. Apart from a brief (but prolific) sojourn to K2 skis in the early…  Read the rest of the post!

Top Five Places for Indoor Skiing

Kate Christiaanse (Director of Accounts and Partner Management) tells it like it is:

Part of what I love most about skiing is breathing in the crisp winter air, taking in the scenery and enjoying a day outside in the mountains. But, in locations where the climate is uncooperative (e.g. the desert), or the topography leaves something to be desired (i.e. it’s flat as all get out), or if…  Read the rest of the post!

Bird is the Word: a Heliskiing Primer

Kate Christiaanse (Director of Accounts and Partner Management) tells it like it is:

Since I work for a company that sells lift tickets, I feel a bit traitorous writing about my recent experience helicopter skiing in Alaska…but since it was one of the best ski experiences I’ve ever had, I figured I’d risk possible termination to give you the skinny. Breathtaking mountains jutting out of glaciers, endless lines…  Read the rest of the post!

Top 5 Backcountry Spots in the Lower 48

Kate Christiaanse (Director of Accounts and Partner Management) tells it like it is:

Considering I work at Liftopia and spend my days thinking about how we can get people to buy more lift tickets, sharing the best non-lift-served terrain in the lower 48 might seem a bit odd.  But we are equal opportunity ski enthusiasts here, and sometimes you just want to earn your turns. Arguably some of…  Read the rest of the post!

King of the Hill — Rent Your Own Mountain

Kate Christiaanse (Director of Accounts and Partner Management) tells it like it is:

Over the last five seasons, Liftopia has continued to grow and evolve its offerings.  We started out with just seven resort partners and have grown the ranks to over 150, and will hopefully have north of 200 by the end of this season.  In the early days we focused on single day lift ticket sales,…  Read the rest of the post!

Reports from the Road, Summer Edition

Kate Christiaanse (Director of Accounts and Partner Management) tells it like it is:

You may be wondering what us Liftopians could possibly be doing during the summer. Hitting the beach and waiting for it to snow we are not.  Actually, we probably work harder during the summer months than any other time of year. The development team has been launching new products, cranking out new features and testing…  Read the rest of the post!
