King of the Hill -- Rent Your Own Mountain

Over the last five seasons, Liftopia has continued to grow and evolve its offerings. We started out with just seven resort partners and have grown the ranks to over 150, and will hopefully have north of 200 by the end of this season. In the early days we focused on single day lift ticket sales, then we expanded to offer packages, like lift ticket + rentals, or lift tickets + lunch. Last season we dipped our toes into premium offerings, such as VIP lift ticket products that allow you to cut lift lines.

Part of what makes my job so much fun is having the opportunity to work closely with our resort partners to come up with new and creative ways to market their mountains and tap into uncharted revenue streams. Several of our partners only operate a few days a week, but if they could guarantee a certain number of visitors they would consider opening their doors on those “off” days. From these types of conversations, our “Private Mountain Rental” product was born.

This season we are very excited to unveil “Private Full Mountain Rental,” one of the coolest and most exclusive offers you can find in ski. Where else other than on Liftopia can you “own” your own mountain for the day? Now you can have the run of an entire resort, fully open and operational just for you and your friends/families/coworkers/etc. The lifts will be fired up, rental shops will open their doors, as well as on-mountain food and beverage service catered to your group’s needs. You can have anything from a bbq and brews lunch to lobster and champagne après ski party. The resort is your oyster!

Among the resorts currently offering Liftopia customers this opportunity are Plattekill Mountain in Roxbury, NY, Mt. Abram in Greenwood, ME, Whaleback in Enfield, NH and Camden Snow Bowl in Camden, ME. We are so excited to bring these types of mold-breaking packages to our consumers.
