Soooo you want to look cool on the slopes this season, eh? Sweet. But you can’t just look good- you have to feel good too!
SPECS: Who wants a great day of skiing or riding to be tainted by cold hands, feet, or even a wet booty?! Being cold stinks, and girls are especially susceptible. One of the quickest ways to differentiate outerwear is by waterproof rating. Here are the basics.
5K = Keeps you dry in light rain or dry, cold snow.
10K = Keeps you dry in moderate rain or on an average snowy day.
20K = Keeps you dry in heavy rain or while skiing in wet, snowy conditions.
30K = Keeps you dry if a river falls from the sky, all at once, and lands directly on your hood while you’re skiing through horizontal hail and firemen blast you with a hose!

FIT: It’s super important to feel comfortable in whatever outwear you rock. You don’t want your jacket or pants too tight or else you won’t be able to layer underneath or move as freely. Jackets and pants should be able to pass a basic jumping jack test!
FAVS: Whether you’re taking a lesson, cruising the blues, or hiking to the back bowls, you want to look your best! In an effort to keep things balanced (I tend to wear a lot of color) I picked a few of my favorites in each color category.
I’d love to hear your secrets on staying warm and looking good on the mountain. What are some of your favorites for this season? Feel free to share your best on-mountain fashion pictures with us on our Facebook page.
