Highlights
This deal is good for 1 day of skiing or snowboarding at Wolf Ridge Ski Resort.
Wolf Ridge Ski Resort, located just half an hour from downtown Asheville in the mountains ... of Western North Carolina, is a family-friendly resort with a “small mountain vibe” that somehow manages to provide all of the big resort amenities skiers and boarders are looking for. Wolf Ridge has two full-service lodges, one at the bottom of the mountain and one on top, a terrain park, challenging slopes for experts, and a growing array of beginner-friendly terrain. With slopeside cabins, tubing, two ziplines and new additions every season, Wolf Ridge Ski Resort is rapidly becoming one of the premiere winter destinations in the South.
What's New:
Wolf Ridge has made the most of the off season in an effort to provide skiers and snowboarders with the best possible experience on the snow in the 2011/2012 season. Last year, Wolf widened the popular Breakaway run, which takes skiers and boarders through the only “ski through” tunnel in North Carolina. They've also added two new “ski out” trails off of the same Breakaway Slope.
The Wolf has also expanded the Terrain Park at the base of Lower Streak slope and Broadway. This year, the Terrain Park will be clearly fenced off, providing better access, more features, and a full-time supervisor to ensure the best experience possible. Frequent updates to the terrain park will keep things fresh for the regulars and ensure that first-time visitors get to experience a wide-variety of interesting features.
This year, The Wolf is proud to announce the opening of a brand new tube run, right off I-26. The new tube run will offer a longer ride, steeper incline and a Magic Carpet lift ride back to the top of the hill. If you love the original tube run, not to worry, it will still be available on weekends and Holidays. If the tubing isn't enough to quell your appetite for speed, two 800-foot-long, side-by-side ziplines added this year will offer visitors a chance to race down the mountain enjoying big views and high speeds. After the ride, zippers can take the surface lift back to the top for as many rides as they want.
Wolf Ridge has always been a favorite with the Western North Carolina locals because of its superior natural terrain, steep slopes and abundant natural snow. One of its three black diamonds, the Bowl, is considered one of the toughest slopes in the state. In recent years, Wolf Ridge has worked to provide diverse terrain with slopes and amenities for all levels of skiers and riders. The resort is increasingly becoming known for wide open terrain and beginner-friendly grades within the teaching areas. Wolf also has two full-service lodges, one at the bottom of the mountain and one at the top. Combine all that with easy accessibility, only 5 miles off I-26, and you have a true winning combination.
