Alta officially opened as a ski area in the winter of 1938- 39. Throughout the years, Alta’s philosophy has been to offer a quality skiing experience for a fair price. The focus is on skiing, earning Alta accolades as a “purist’s mountain.” It is one of the 3 remaining areas in the United States to be a skier’s- only mountain. Snowboarding is not allowed. Ski Magazine’s Reader Resort Survey ranks Alta #1 for Overall Satisfaction.
Alta has a skier-friendly hands-free ticketing system. All ski products will be loaded on the Alta Card, which will have an RFID (radio frequency identification) chip embedded in it to allow access through entry gates to the lifts.

Pick-up instructions
You may pick-up your lift tickets at either the Albion Ticket Office or the Wildcat Ticket Office. You must bring your Liftopia voucher and photo ID.
