Experience Idaho’s best backcountry terrain right here at Soldier Mountain! Soldier Snowcats offers full day tours into the spectacular Smoky Dome backcountry. Enjoy a comfortable ride in the 12 passenger ... snowcat carriage with flat screen TV and big windows for spectacular views.

Backcountry skiing is an exciting adventure for those independent skiers/boarders who have some knowledge of avalanche safety, skiing/boarding the fall line, and able to ski black diamond runs. All cat skier/boarders please remember to dress appropriately for the varying weather conditions you may encounter. Up to 12 people can be accommodated per trip. Be sure to book your trip early to take full advantage of the powder that awaits you!

This is a basic and incredible backcountry experience that will allow you to choose your own lines, moving at your own pace, for approximately 4 hours of skiing. You will need to rent or provide your own avalanche gear and lunch. Available Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
