Mt Baker Reviews & Tips (5)

This site lists Amenities which I've never seen and I've been skiing there a long time. If you see an amenity listed that's not directly ski related, then they are probably 40 miles down the hill, outside of the national park, in the town of Glacier or beyond. There is definitely not a golf course next to the ski area nor is there an ice skating rink. There is not an indoor or outdoor waterpark within 60 miles of Mt Baker unless you count the local city pool in Bellingham which has a kiddie slide. Slopeside lodging doesn't exist. It used to about 100 years ago, but the lodge burned down and was never rebuilt. Anyway, the skiing there is awesome. On average, it gets a large amount of snow compared to any other ski area in North America. I'm a skier, but this mountain probably appeals more to boarders because of the natural half-pipe. If all you want to do is ski, Mt Baker is for you. If you want to stay in your comfy room and soak in the hot tub while looking at the mountain, go to Whistler. ps. I just check the ticket prices on the web site and it's $53 on weekdays and $58 on weekend and holidays.

By far, my favorite of the features listed here were the golf course and indoor waterpark, though the Segway tours were pretty great too. Really great editing for accuracy here, cheers!

Baker is epic on powder days. The mountain gets 3 foot dumps regularly. Be there when the snow is coming down and you will never forget the trip. The one drawback is the snow can be very heavy so watch the weather forecast and go when it's cold.
