Seventy five years ago, Bruce Kehr and Don Adams traveled to the heart of Washington’s Cascade Mountains bringing with them a Ford V-8 engine, some wheels and a rope, and started Stevens Pass. Stevens has grown from its humble beginnings to one of the Northwest's premier resorts offering 10 lifts, over 1,125 acres of skiable terrain, 37 primary runs, and

at the heart—an intimate base village surrounded by three day lodges. Like our founders, the resort's team members are passionate about the sport, their environment and the service they provide.
Located only 78 miles from Downtown Seattle, Stevens Pass Mountain Resort sits atop the Cascade Crest where storms and moisture from the Pacific collide with the cold, dry intermountain air of the Columbia basin. These storms produced 590 inches of snow last season and an annual average of over 450 inches. Spread across three sides of two mountains, Stevens provides a wide variety of on and off trail terrain, backcountry zones, steep chutes, tree skiing, and three terrain parks. Read more

On a powder day, go somewhere else.....so I don't have to wait in a longer lift line.

Skied over March break unfortunately in the rain, but the hill was virtually empty and everyone was still in a great mood. Finally had to give up because the snow was so slushy but I would recommend this hill on sunny days. The base area is modern and well developed, one of the best I have seen in awhile.

Went for 2 days on Mon/Tue. 1st day, extremely strong wind (sideways, upwards, backwards...all directions), snowing non-stop & sometimes hailed. Visibility was quite bad. Very few people but great snow! 2nd day, bright & sunny! Perfect for improving or practicing rides. Snow was still very good!
* Beware, all chairlift landing are short & steep. Some only has 1-2' of flat top before sliding down.
Overall, good place for snowboarding!

The lifties were cool, the customer service person was friendly and stoked on the fact I was visiting from AK, lunch was tasty and a decent value, and the beer options included big and small names with small and big tastes.
Even with a low snow year, I was able to find plenty of fun, small stashes on both the front and back of the resort. If you're trained, have researched the conditions, have a pal, and the appropriate gear, the sidecountry was holding good powder from days ago! Well worth a short hike.
The terrain is fun, with plenty of natural features to play on - more rocks and better tree spacing than what I see at my home resort, Alyeska. (No offense, Aly. I still love you and your 530"+ so far this season!) The runs varied in difficulty so that everyone in my party, from beginner to advanced, had a good time.

be wary. it was mid week and they had three main lifts shut down. 7th Heaven for maintenance and both Southern Cross and DD from 11am on because they were under 500 skiers when we asked a lift operator. makes much advanced terrain inaccessible w/o a major hike. so why buy even a discounted ticket?

Be Aware there are no "rain checks" for these tickets due to weather. Luck of the draw!! Great ski area for all abilities.

Went on a Tuesday. It wasn't crowded, but we still had to wait in the ticket line for an hour to cash in our liftopia voucher. Every transaction seemed to take them 3-5 minutes (even mine, using a prepaid voucher). It was ridiculous! Stevens needs to improve this big time.

Get there early, the car parks were full when i got there, I gave up after 2 hours of trying to find a parking place and then queueing for a shuttle. and went home. I was warned to give it a miss at the weekends so it was my own fault for not taking the advice.

Boarders, most of the open areas in Mill Valley are all tracked out by skiers (moguls). Stay in the trees and by the powerlines.
