The Camden Snow Bowl is a town owned ski and recreation area, operated by the Department of Parks and Recreation. From the summit of 1300’ Ragged Mountain, skiers and riders have an incredible view of Penobscot Bay and the surrounding hills. The Camden Snow Bowl is “where the mountains meet the sea”. Three lifts currently serve the ... mountain. A double chair, a brand new triple and a conveyor lift in the expanded beginner area service the 23 trails and glades. All trails lead back to a classic A-frame lodge where you will find all services. Our terrain park boasts three big jumps with rollers and anywhere from 20-30 elements. We hear regularly that our park is as good as some of the big mountains. The Camden Snow Bowl has a Ski and Ride School certified by the Professional Ski Instructors of America, an active youth racing program, adult racing, a fully qualified ski patrol and a full rental shop. Coastal Maine sees its share of big winter storms, but we have a snowmaking system that covers 85% of our area to ensure plenty of skiing and riding. There are two trails available for Nordic skiing, snowshoeing and fat bike riding. Most alpine trails are groomed daily. In addition to Alpine and Nordic skiing and snowboarding, there are other winter activities available at the Camden Snow Bowl including ice skating on Hosmer pond and a thrilling 400’ toboggan chute, open on weekends weather permitting. The National Toboggan Championships are held here the first weekend of February with over 1000 racers and 400 toboggan teams.

A year round recreation area, the Camden Snow Bowl offers hiking, mountain biking, tennis courts, ball fields and a summer youth rec program. Fishing, boating and swimming are possible on the tranquil Hosmer pond. In the autumn, there are fall foliage pancake breakfasts and chairlift rides. Facility rentals are available all year for parties, weddings and reunions. Call the office (207) 236-3438 or email us ( for more information.

Camden Snow Bowl Reviews & Tips (6)

Great little area with a friendly, laid-back vibe. The ocean views are beautiful - and very rare for a ski area! The fixed-grip lift is slow, but it doesn't really matter - who's in a rush? More time to enjoy pleasant conversation and the awesome view. The lodge is tiny, and the line at the snack bar counter gets pretty long, so plan your lunch break accordingly. Let's all preserve the true spirit of skiing by supporting wonderful local ski hills like Camden!

A great little mountain with an ocean view. I enjoyed skiing the past two weekends. Wonderful conditions and great staff. And don't forget the grill...very good. Usually a long line but once your there it only takes a minut. Glad we discovered you only 1 hr from our home.

Camden Snow Bowl is a great place to spend a day (or two) skiing in Maine. The views of the Atlantic and the rugged Camden Hills are amazing. The mountain has great experts terrain in the glades and the backcountry areas on either side of the mountain. The backcountry areas even include some cliff drops. See full report here:

I purchased the Ski or Snowboard Lesson package. When arriving at the ticket counter, person was adamant on saying I had a snowboard lesson. I quickly pointed to her, "oh I thought this says ski OR snowboard" on the voucher. She wasn't too friendly. Good beginner mountain to learn. Not crowded.

The children loved the mountain skiing. The parents loved the fact that all runs end up in the same place....easier to keep track of them and the non-skiers enjoyed the sun shine deck, where they could see all the children. Great family ski area.
