Tamarack Resort Reviews & Tips (9)

Not a bad place at all. Groomers were nice and fast. Great views on a bluebird day. If weather is warm I would avoid. South/Southeast facing. No Bumps that I could find, however :(

I bought 4-day tickets to ski Thursday through Sunday. Tamarack is closed Monday-Wednesday. I didn't realize that Thursday's are considered "powder days" and they don't groom the runs. I rarely fall on groomed intermediate runs, but the deep powder made the intermediate runs difficult for me and I took some bad falls. My neck was so stiff and sore after day one that I couldn't ski the remaining three days. I think Tamarack is a great resort, but I have learned that when there is a lot of ungroomed powder, I need to take it slow and easy. Buying 4-day tickets in advance is only a good deal when you can actually use all four days!

Went up there the last day of the 2012-2013 season and enjoyed every minute of it! The staff was accomodating and very friendly - made my first time skiing better than I thought it would be for sure. They've created a really great atmosphere and it definitely shows. I took a 1 hour lesson and decided to go ahead and do another hour since the instructor was so amazing (Scott P.)! Doesn't matter your experience level, this is a great place for all skiers and snowboarders. No lift lines, fresh tracks and some amazing views. Can't wait to get up there again next season!

We are regular McCall/Brundage Mtn skiers and had never been to Tamarack. We absolutely loved it. It's a great layout, well thought out and it will be back as a destination ski resort when the rough times are past them. Thank you Liftopia for introducing us to Tamarack.

I skied at Tamarack the year they opened (2005 ?) and the following year. Thought I had heard that they were bankrupt and someone had repossessed the lifts. Glad to hear they are still running. I'll have to plan a trip next season. Nothing beats Utah (where I live), but Tamarak is great.mack

One of the best kept secrets in the US. Zero lift lines, unbelievable terrain. Great powder, fresh tracks. Definitely worth the extra 20 minute drive from Brundage. I'll be back for many years!

Skied Tamarack on SUNDAY 2/12. Pulled up in parking lot at 10 till 9:00 to find about 5-6 other cars....on a Sunday!! NEVER waited all day for a lift, not even 1 minute!! Snow conditions were the best I had seen in Idaho for 4 days, (also skied Bogus & Sun Valley). Runs have lots of character with dips & turns, rolls & bumps! Lots of fun cruising & enough steeps off of the 2 ridge lines. The 2 quads serve up all you need for a solid day of skiing with 2800 vertical feat. I hope this place can make a go of it & reach their full planned acreage when $ allows, it has GREAT potential! We skied for less than 6 hours, got in 32K vertical on a sunny day with great snow for $39!!!!! Are you kidding me!!!!! I WILL BE BACK!

Make first tracks! It is awesome! Help keep this place open, it is well worth it! Wonderful terrain and great snow! No lift lines! I'm a skier and love runs and powder, and the snowboarding teens in the family love the terrain, the park and half pipe! Try it, you will be hooked!
