Dodge Ridge is a ski resort in the Sierras, south of the Tahoe area in northern California. It has 10 lifts, 62 trails, and 832 acres. The skiing here is pure and simple, with large black diamond bowls, shots, and glades. Long and curved groomed intermediate are mixed throughout the mountain. If you can make it up there right after a storm, ride the powder in the trees between chair 7 and 8. It's great back country skiing. Also try the chili bread bowl. P.S. the road up to dodge (highway 108) is narrow and snowy, please learn how to drive in the mountains before clogging up our roads! thanks.

This resort is a blast from the past, circa 1970. Older lifts, super friendly people, surprisingly good lodge food (nothing gourmet, but what they serve is fresh and very good), clean restrooms, clean lodge, easy parking and a fun smaller mountain. It mostly serves a local crowd and day skiers from the Bay area who are looking for a good value. I have been there on powder days when it seemed relatively empty.

Close to the Central valley of california and has some great slopes. I would take my own bowl of chili and be sure to try all the great slopes here.
