Lutsen is the best ski area in the Midwest, and it's not even close. Lift tickets are pricey compared to other areas, but slightly discounted tickets can be found through Liftopia. If value is a concern, make use of the Caribou Express lift—the speed of that chair makes the premium you pay to ski Lutsen worth it.

Best day of skiing this year so far. Perfect conditions and well groomed hills.

If it's open, ski Mystery Mtn. It can be a hike, but well worth it. It only has a handful of runs, but the ski/boarder cross run is a blast and it's never busy. It's my favorite mountain of all 4.

Great family place. Loved the ski in ski out package deal. Other family from WI joined us, but I was disappointed to learn that at the time we were up there (12/21-12-24) the hill was not 100% open at all and they still charged full price lift ticket for those not using the ski and stay.

this resort has some of the best terrain in the midwest. When it snows it can be like out west, but there ability to manage the snow leaves something to be desired, they have good grooming equipment but don't seem to use it, ice is a problem as well as cold. I'm a season pass holder and consider Lutsen my home Mnt. Ski the 10th Mnt.chair to access the steep terrain of the Northface of Eagle Mnt. Bull run on moose Mnt can be fast and fun. They also have the only gondola in the midwest. Expect to pay too much for everything.
