Of the 4 Aspen Mountains, Aspen Highlands is by far the local favorite. Thirty six percent of the terrain is for experts only, and this terrain is some of the hardest in the country. The new Deep Temerity lift has an array of newly opened double black diamond runs that take you directly to the lift base, making it easy... to have purely expert terrain. Cruisers make up a large proportion of the land as well, presenting a nice break from some of the harder terrain. If you are willing to hike, you can go up an additional thousand feet to the peek of Highland Bowl, which provides a rush through untracked powder like no other. There are some easy trails, but no fully green circle paths to any of the lifts. If you are in between beginner and intermediate, however, you should have no trouble finding areas you would enjoy. Reviews & Tips (2)

The incomparable Highland Bowl of Aspen is the one way ticket to powder heaven. If you like the white stuff and doesn't mind the hike, this is the place to be. Local powderhounds love the concept of "earn your turn." Think you can handle it? I found a great review on Aspen Highlands..check it out, might be useful. http://skiresorts.com/content/aspen-highlands

Highland Bowl is incredible. If you are willing to put up with a little bit of a hike, you gain access to an amazing amount of steep, sustained vertical. Given the normal wind patterns, the snow tends to get blown back in to the bowl, so even "skied" snow can get better throughout the day.
