Beaver Creek is a comfortable resort in Vail Valley, covering 1,815 acres and 3,340 feet vertical. It is known for plates of chocolate chip cookies and spa treatments, but also has plenty of terrain for those who want to rip it up. Stone Creek was recently opened and has some of the hardest terrain in the resort, including glades and... chutes. The Birds of Pray Express Lift and Grouse Mountain Express Lift also have some fun pitches and glades. If you or someone is just learning there are plenty of fun winding greens and a couple learning areas (at Beaver Creek Village). Groomed cruisers are also prevalent throughout the park. Beaver Creek is nestled between 3 different village centers (Beaver Creek, Arrowhead, and Bachelor Gulch), creating a relaxed and luxurious European atmosphere. With numerous accommodations very close to the mountain, including a slope-side Ritz-Carlton, staying on the mountain can be very enjoyable. The mountain can be done on the cheap as well with a gondola running from the nearby Avon. Read more

Skied there back in the mid 80's, was a weekday with about 18" - 20" new and no one there, could track all day even on the runs!

Beaver Creek is an amazing hidden gem of a resort. Its easily over looked as vail is only 10 minutes down the road. Its Vail Resorts and known for being one of the more expensive ski areas in the world, which it is...However, you can ski and stay in the beaver creek area as cheap and easily as any Vail Resort. Most people are scared of the prices and that keeps crowds from coming. even in the busiest time of the year, you wont wait more than 10 mins in line. Vail, Breck, keystone, copper and winter park keep the frontrangers at bay. The snowboard park is always good and never crowded. there are plenty of steep runs (Beav hosts pro ski races annually and the 2015 world championships). There is great dining throughout the village, also. Free cookies are not a myth, just be ready at 3 oclock to grab one or just be pleasantly surprised when you come off the mountain and theyre passing some out. Ive lived here 4 seasons and as long as the snow is good, i wouldnt live anywhere else. great resort, id recommend it to anyone

Most expensive lift ticket without discount even though 50% of the skiing area is closed after March 31, 2011. For $95/day, only about 900 acres are available & the main lift broke down i.e. not going up at all since all the others are closed. Free cookies are a myth, they only have about 50 cookies available for about 50 seconds!

It's the "local" vail. No lines, good powder, and up-to-date facebook page for reports.

Beaver Creek has 1,815 skiable acres inbounds. On powder days, locals ski legal out-of-bounds for the deep untracked powder
