We had another GREAT trip to Crested Butte last week. The Liftopia deal was fantastic since it was the last week of the season. Fortunately the snow was still great and we had a ball. Crested Butte is the sweetest old mining town and really family friendly. Down to earth, friendly locals and guests. We will be back. Saved a lot by flying Southwest (no luggage fees!) and flying into Denver - long drive (4 1/2 hours) but beautiful!

Awesome snow. No lift lines. Definitely recommend Crested Butte. However, lift ticket deals are endless. Could have saved a lot of money buying tickets on site!

I took the beginner snowboard class...what a great deal! Thanks Liftopia! Plan on it taking a few days to really get comfortable on the board though (I am a female and not terribly aggressive...but I do have good balance). It was a lot of fun. We are staying at The Lodge @ Mountaineer Square. We are in a Studio Deluxe (#310)--perfect for a couple who want a really nice vacation experience. It is absolutely beautiful and we will always ask for this unit when we come in the future! We can take the free bus to town easily...or just eat up on the mountain...lots of great places to eat right here by our condo, or in town. I took today off and have had a wonderful day just being in this lovely condo, taking the bus to town and shopping...tonight we are going out for a nice dinner---truly the perfect vacation!

Crested butte is a nice place to ski. I have been there two of three times that I have been skiing. It's a little harder to get to. Gunnison is not a big airport sot tickets are more expensive. The only thing I don't like about using liftopia is that CB won't give you the lift tickets until the day of use if you buy a single day ticket.

I just moved to Gunnison this summer and was excited to tryout Crested Butte. I bought one discount ticket from early when I first heard of the $19 tickets. It was great skiing and a sunny bluebird day. They also had the first annual Santa Crawl coupled with the Pub Crawl afterward to the adults. My advice would be to buy early since later on the prices went up, but were still a really good deal. Crested Butte is a great town to visit. The resort is excellent with many options for lunch, and once out of the base area the lift lines are usually non-existent.

This was an awesome deal for early season skiing! I bought a $20 ticket, rented alpine equipment for the first time, after telemark skiing for 20 years, and had the best lesson EVER! (Ask for Mark Day in ski school.) The views are amazing and a Bacon Bloody Mary can't be beat on the Paradise deck. No lift lines, friendly lifties and the snow conditions are incredible!

they expanded the blue runs for 2013-14.....why risk new england ski vacation( i live in NE) when for some extra money...and not much you are sure of snow, you don't need a car...great shuttles, and you have an experience of a lifetime.....i did this 20 years ago and back every year since

I have no idea what all these people are talking about, I just got a great deal at Crested Butte. I only paid $1,527, that included round trip airfare from Boston, five nights, four days of ski passes, a round trip shuttle from Gunnison, and I'm staying in the newest hotel on the resort. They took 25% off of my tickets, hotel room, and shuttle. I also received $400 off my flight, it only cost me a little over $100 for the round trip flight. I will be only 500 feet from the two main lifts at the base. I paid $550 last year to stay at Sunday River for two nights and three lift passes. I stayed in the oldest and cheapest motel they had and I had to either take the shuttle or drive to the nearest lift line. I can't wait to get out there and snowboard. My brother in law use to live out there and told me I had to go to Crested Butte and Telluride, because I would love them. I will write a review after my trip in January.

We always ski crested butte at christmas and planned a trip again this year, but if I know that they were going to raise the prices of lift ticket and cut out the 5 day pass I would have went some where else. If I can get out of this trip I will. It's to bad because CB was our favorit place to ski.

I agree that CB is one of the last great ski towns. Snow and skiing are great. Will be going again next year. Skiing is good for beginers to Advanced. Lots of apres ski activities at the base area for kids (bungy, rock wall, mini-golf, tubing hill). Tip for where to stay: Base area lodging is a little dated, unless in the brand new overpriced accomodations. To get a better deal, we stay in homes on the free shuttle route. Pricing is better when you consider some homes can sleep up to 10 people. Last time our group stayed in a house in the Pitchfork neighborhood. Kids could spread out in the basement and adults had the upper two floors. Free shuttle pick up was about 50ft from the house. We use the property management companies in Crested Butte or VRBO to find these homes.

Tip for the season - your prices are too steep!! You would think w/ the economy the way it is, you would discount your rates instead of increasing. People will end up going to the other resorts that are deeply discounted. Get a clue, CB!

My wife and I are average skiers. However, we love Crested Butte, not just for skiing by the whole place is very relaxing and the people are great. I've gone to just about every ski resort in Co and found that Crested Butte is the best experience. If your thinking about going to Crested Butte in the winter I would recommend it highly. However, you should also try checking it out in the summer, its really nice. My wife are going there again this weekend for four days..... See you at the Butte!!! E

It's true...I'm not sure why CB decided to up their prices and its a lot, but this mountain is a hidden gem in the US. That's the way it should stay though...a small, quaint mountain village with lots of tough terrain (closed right now, but when it is...oh man!). Right now, International is my favorite open run. You can really fly down that thing, just look out for ski patrol controlling the idiots who think they can handle steep pitches but end up on their butts the whole way down.

My favorite run was Prospector. Great run for blue/intermediate with few people. The greens and blues are truly, if not a little conservative, marked so you don't worry about getting in over your head. Fun mountain with great people!

My son is an extreme skier. I enjoyed the blacks, especially international. CB great for all around skiing, but especially for extreme skiers. The busses are great and free to get you to the ski area from the condos. Check home away to get deals at the condos. I love CB town. Enjoyed the food at the Sherpa cafe - excellent at a very reasonable price.

This place is place has to be almost thee greatest place to go snowboarding in Colorado when there is fresh powder! Crested Butte has the mountain town and also the regular town. It's a nice place, secluded unlike Vail. The Hotel's on the mountain are really nice and they are also cheap. It's not as far as Telluride, but just as good! There's also snowmobling right in the town!

We spent the past week there for the first time in many years. A lot of the old familiar runs combined with some really nice newer runs and terrain parks. Room for both boarders and skiers. Food on the mountain is expensive. Try Seceret Stash Pizza, Slogar's, or Pitas in Paradise all in town for better food and a little better price.

Crested Butte is amazing. I am always blown away by how many good skiers they are here. I typcailly think of myself as an advanced skier, but the Crested Butte locals make me look like an intermediate.
