Crested Butte Reviews & Tips (24)

I agree that CB is one of the last great ski towns. Snow and skiing are great. Will be going again next year. Skiing is good for beginers to Advanced. Lots of apres ski activities at the base area for kids (bungy, rock wall, mini-golf, tubing hill). Tip for where to stay: Base area lodging is a little dated, unless in the brand new overpriced accomodations. To get a better deal, we stay in homes on the free shuttle route. Pricing is better when you consider some homes can sleep up to 10 people. Last time our group stayed in a house in the Pitchfork neighborhood. Kids could spread out in the basement and adults had the upper two floors. Free shuttle pick up was about 50ft from the house. We use the property management companies in Crested Butte or VRBO to find these homes.

Wow, every resort in the state but Crested Butte and Aspen offer one day discounted tickets. CBMR is becoming more of a joke every day. You do realize your not one of the top resorts in the state don't you? We'll head to Copper, Winter Park; stay closer to home and save a ton of money. Get a clue CB, your losing business.

Tip for the season - your prices are too steep!! You would think w/ the economy the way it is, you would discount your rates instead of increasing. People will end up going to the other resorts that are deeply discounted. Get a clue, CB!

My wife and I are average skiers. However, we love Crested Butte, not just for skiing by the whole place is very relaxing and the people are great. I've gone to just about every ski resort in Co and found that Crested Butte is the best experience. If your thinking about going to Crested Butte in the winter I would recommend it highly. However, you should also try checking it out in the summer, its really nice. My wife are going there again this weekend for four days..... See you at the Butte!!! E

Hey CB... You might wanna start to think about putting some deals out there. You have no snow on the mountain!

It's true...I'm not sure why CB decided to up their prices and its a lot, but this mountain is a hidden gem in the US. That's the way it should stay though...a small, quaint mountain village with lots of tough terrain (closed right now, but when it is...oh man!). Right now, International is my favorite open run. You can really fly down that thing, just look out for ski patrol controlling the idiots who think they can handle steep pitches but end up on their butts the whole way down.

This place is a great place to ski, but they have really gone up on their prices for lift tickets, especially over the holidays, they damn near double the price and screw their customers and could care less what anybody thinks about it.

My favorite run was Prospector. Great run for blue/intermediate with few people. The greens and blues are truly, if not a little conservative, marked so you don't worry about getting in over your head. Fun mountain with great people!

My son is an extreme skier. I enjoyed the blacks, especially international. CB great for all around skiing, but especially for extreme skiers. The busses are great and free to get you to the ski area from the condos. Check home away to get deals at the condos. I love CB town. Enjoyed the food at the Sherpa cafe - excellent at a very reasonable price.

This place is place has to be almost thee greatest place to go snowboarding in Colorado when there is fresh powder! Crested Butte has the mountain town and also the regular town. It's a nice place, secluded unlike Vail. The Hotel's on the mountain are really nice and they are also cheap. It's not as far as Telluride, but just as good! There's also snowmobling right in the town!

We spent the past week there for the first time in many years. A lot of the old familiar runs combined with some really nice newer runs and terrain parks. Room for both boarders and skiers. Food on the mountain is expensive. Try Seceret Stash Pizza, Slogar's, or Pitas in Paradise all in town for better food and a little better price.

Crested Butte is an outdoor playground peppered with boulders and cliffs and tree-runs. There's a little bit of everything, with very little emphasis on beginner terrain.

Crested Butte is amazing. I am always blown away by how many good skiers they are here. I typcailly think of myself as an advanced skier, but the Crested Butte locals make me look like an intermediate.
