Eldora Mountain Resort is a resort in Colorado with 1600 feet of vertical, 680 acres and 12 lifts. It is also the closest ski resort to Denver. This draws people to the resort but avoids much of the traffic going up I-70. Some of the most difficult skiing is on the opposite side of the resort, including some very difficult ... experts only glades and chutes. Even better, they have a dining area at the top of the Corona Quad chairlift in this area, preventing the need to go through easier areas to get lunch. Most of the park is filled with intermediate trails (43%), and the resort has 100% snowmaking coverage for all groomed area. Four terrain parks make an appearance very close to the lodge. A novice learning area is on the very left of the resort along with all the more difficult easy slopes. Overall, Eldora is a fun getaway and covers all the bases for a variety of terrain types. Eldora Reviews & Tips (12)

This place was great when you could get up there from the north denver area in less than an hour. Since last year they've gotten ahead of themselves, no longer sell discounted tickets, and the place is PACKED on powder days. All the tech companies in boulder offer employees seasons passes as a perk, and the mountain is just not big enough to accommodate the crowds. You can get there an hour before the lifts start on a powder day and there are already hundreds of people in line to take five runs and go back to work. It's nice when they leave but don't expect to get any freshies. A bonus is when one of the buses that start running at 7:00 am from Boulder inevitably goes off the road and blocks the one access road going up the canyon. If you get up there before the bus you're in great shape, if not you're SOL

I started skiing here in the 80's when the place was really small and enjoyed every trip. I get tired of hearing how small it is today and about how cold and icy it is. I would recomend this place to everyone! If you want to ski at a larger place try Keystone and have fun standing in line all day.

There are slopes for everyone. And you don't find advanced skiers on the beginner trails which is great. The employees have been nothing but helpful. I've been going here since I could walk and I've loved it ever since. You can ski directly down to your car which is absolutely amazing unlike in Breckenridge. This is the place to be!!

Hit or miss depending upon wind and snow. Nice little place when the snow is fresh. I agree with other reviews, the management at Eldora is not the friendliest. It is not uncommon to have a negative interaction with an Eldora employee. You pay for the driving convenience with very high food prices, even for a ski resort, and high lift tickets considering the size of the mountain and quality of the lifts(slow). Easy access is the biggest appeal.

Love going up here because it's a no hassle trip. Nothing fancy about Eldora but there are some fun/challenging runs. Staff is friendly and helpful. Advice- bring your own food and water. Cheaper to eat at DIA. Eldora management needs to check itself on prices. It's a little out of line for what it is. Hard to understand why better mountains like Loveland, Wolf Creek, Monarch are cheaper. Stop in Ned on the way home for a micro-brew and good food at Wild Mountain on Main Street.

On the right day, Eldora is world class skiing. Being closer than Summit County, I can afford to sleep in and still hit those days. It's a lot more cost effective, good deal abound if you look. I can sleep till 7 be there when the lifts open, ski till last lift and be home by 6. Can't say that about a one day trip to Summit County, even midweek. On the wrong day, you'll freeze your butt off and the skiing will be terrible. Pick and choose, pick and choose.

I have lived and skied in Colorado for more than 35 years, during which time I visited the Eldora Ski Resort on a number of occasions. I frequently found icy, marginal snow conditions, and very windy, exposed ski runs. For those reasons I have chosen in recent years to ski elsewhere. However, at the urging of a friend from Boulder, Colorado (but against my better judgment) I purchased online a mid-week seasonal pass to Eldora. The pass was reasonably priced, and it would allow me to ski often with my friend. I gave Eldora my credit card number online to pay for the pass, which had to be picked up personally by visiting their retail store in downtown Boulder. That purchase was a big mistake. Unfortunately, because of my travel schedule, I missed most of the ski season in Colorado, and was not able to visit the store to acquire my ski pass. In March, I emailed Eldora and simply asked that they apply my store credit for the same ski pass, advertised at the same price, for the following year. They declined to do so, insisting that my store credit was not valid for any other purchase. So, they took my money, I got nothing in return, and I have gone back to my earlier thinking. The Eldora Ski Resort advertises their close proximity to the Colorado Front Range. But, why not drive an equal or even shorter distance (especially from Denver) to other areas such as Loveland, with lower prices, much better terrain, quality snow conditions, and ethical ski area management?

Lotta people dog this place hard, I even know people that live in Boulder and have never skied it. Good; they can drive up to Summit and sit in traffic. Here's some of the perks: This place is awesome IF there's snow. Has some great tree skiing on the north side of the mountain. Never stood in a long lift line here even on a busy weekend. The people that work here and super friendly and most of the people on the mountain are locals who are friendly and laid back, opposed to snooty resort skiers who fly up from Texas at a place like Keystone. Some of the draw backs of Eldora are that it's SMALL and it can get WINDY and cold. That doesn't bother me as I grew up skiing small east coast mountains where ice, wind and cold were the norm.

Love the people, the slopes are not so busy that you spend more of you time snowboarding than standing in lift lines. The lift ticket prices work perfect for Juniors
