Eldora Mountain Resort is a resort in Colorado with 1600 feet of vertical, 680 acres and 12 lifts. It is also the closest ski resort to Denver. This draws people to the resort but avoids much of the traffic going up I-70. Some of the most difficult skiing is on the opposite side of the resort, including some very difficult... experts only glades and chutes. Even better, they have a dining area at the top of the Corona Quad chairlift in this area, preventing the need to go through easier areas to get lunch. Most of the park is filled with intermediate trails (43%), and the resort has 100% snowmaking coverage for all groomed area. Four terrain parks make an appearance very close to the lodge. A novice learning area is on the very left of the resort along with all the more difficult easy slopes. Overall, Eldora is a fun getaway and covers all the bases for a variety of terrain types. Eldora is nice because it is not crowded and you dont have to deal with the traffic on 70. It is a peaceful mountain.
The lift ride time is about 10 minutes up and it takes about 5 minutes to ski down. So if you are patient and dont mind sitting more than actual skiing, then you will be okay. This is not a mountain that will give you a real workout but, it great to hang with friends. The lifts move slower than the larger mountains. (for comparison: Copper is about 10 minutes up to the top using 2 different lifts and ski time down is about 15 minutes)

Love the people, the slopes are not so busy that you spend more of you time snowboarding than standing in lift lines. The lift ticket prices work perfect for Juniors

Eldora isn't the best place but it is the closest and if you're looking for a place to avoid the traffic and just get some slope time. Go to Eldora it ain't that bad.
