Durango Mountain is certainly challenging, "my cup of tea." I'm a mogul skiier and the one day I went on Feb. 2nd '12, it was an amazing powder day. It was like skiing pillows. What I also like is that the mountain is 20 minutes from downtown Durango. It's only 5 1/2 hrs. from Colorado Springs where I live and I have two boys living there currently. The town is always buzzing with things to do!

My wife and I just took our first ski trip. We were with a group of a dozen or so experienced skiers. Ticket pickup was extremely easy. No trouble at all for any of our group. Beautiful location. Great variety of trails. But the most outstanding thing was the service we received from the DMR Staff. Every single person from shuttle drivers, lift operators, office personel... They were exceptionally helpful and kind. We had a minor issue to deal with and the staff went far beyond what they had to in order to resolve it. We will absolutely come back.

Had a great time with the family on Christmas day. It was so nice to just head to will call and pick up tickets. I just wish their were more offerings for discounts on the weekends. All in all this is a great way to get on the mountain without overspending. We couldn't afford to ski with the whole family otherwise.

Great Mountain!! Went with a group of 15 over Christmas. If you have kids, the mountain is just the right size. The trails are well marked. Can't say enough positive things about DMR.

I am looking forward to my trip to DMR in January! My last visit was in 2008. I had not skiied for quite a few years. Went to Purg, got an instructor and had a wonderful time. Took three teenage boarders. They loved it. Stayed at Tamarron. Minutes from ski area. Free bus shuttle.

Caught the second to last day of the season. We had a blast. The rollers make you want to just cruise and launch out on every run. The whole mountain has a park feeling. I would suggest avoiding the lift to the far skiers left. Its incredibly slow

Liftopia way to go for tickets - WIll Call is super easy. No crowds or waiting at Purgatory. Paul's Park off life 8 (black diamond) is the bomb, Cathedral Trees just below Dante's if great easy glade skiiing for internediates - easily missed. Lift 8 is where it's at...jjust wish they had a safety bar and leg rest. Ye Ole School house is best pizza around - 2.5 Miles south of the resort.

I have been to Durango many times and this was by far the most convenient way to go. No standing in lines - just popped my head in doors and they were waiting for me. I had five family members with me that was the first time here. Great experience!. Plan to do it again next year. Thanks Liftopia!

Great price on Liftopia tickets, no problem getting them from will call. Skiing was great. The two bunny lifts are free so its a great place to learn something new like snowboarding.

Father Tom had it wrong...Purgatory what a cool place... My scoop: lift 8 Sally's is the bomb, Ray's if it's groomed. lift 3 Peace, & Dead Spike if groomed. Dantes for lunch. Frontside is good too. Great snow and nice people lots of smiles. Can't beat Durango for friendly small town with microbrews, Steamworks; Conductor IPA. Cheers!

Was so easy to get the lift tickets at a great price. It snowed for 48 hrs. The snow was so heavy only a few runs were groomed. When we picked up the tickets we were also able to obtain a list of the groomed trails. That was much easier to ski on. Had a great time.

The liftopia purchase worked great. The tickets were waiting at will call by 8. At Dmr,there is a nice mix of intermediate and black runs to ski on.It is an easy hill to get to from the Midwest.Wonderful friendly people both on the hill and in town. Much easier to fly into the airport through Frontier airlines and drive up after staying in Durango. The airport is easy to travel through and has more reliable flying weather . Weeks earlier I had been to Keystone while I liked the mountain, the drive up I-70 is a hassle for a short vacation.

Liftopia tickets pick up at Gueast Services. They actually have them printed out and on top of the counter by 8:30. No line, just pick them up!

Just completed a trip with 14 people to DMR. Great snow on Feb 25 and 26. Mountain is set up well for groups with varying abilities. Some can ski blues and some can ski blacks and still meet up at the same lift. Had some issues with some lift tickets (our fault) and the ticketing staff helped us resolve the problems and get us on the slopes ASAP.

Been to probably 10 different ski mountains. Purg is my favorite. Have made 4 trips there. The nice thing about this place is you usually don't have to fight crowds of people. Ample services / shops / food / lodging on the mountain. Wonderful easy to ski mountain. Purg consist of ledges ending with flats at just the right places. Highly recommend this place.

Points to consider while writing:
  • - Definitely talk about the snow, the lifts, the quality of the run, the staff/instructors
  • - Would you go again?
  • - What would you say to others with your skill level who are interested in going?
