Ski Granby Ranch Reviews & Tips (15)

We loved Granby Ranch. Ski in/out was fabulous and we just went back to our condo to eat lunch. The runs were groomed and in excellent condition However, we went on Easter week and they closed the Monday after Easter. One day there was perfect as we had people who hadn't skied or snowboarded in a while. It was a great place to start. We went to Winter Park for the rest of the week and that worked out well. The prices for a lift ticket at Granby was very affordable! We did not take any lessons or rent equipment but the other employees we encountered very pleasant. We plan on going back again!

Great place & snow, easily accessible and economical. Wonderful mountain for our grandchildren to build confidence and skill. Great snowboard lesson for one of them as well. A great fun place for families.

Our group had 2 new boarders. 1 new skier and 3 intermediate skier/boarders. Granby Ranch was good for the new learners but the intermediate boarders/skier were looking for more runs after the first day. We were disappointed in the lack of grooming. We had 3 and 4 day passes and it got very boring doing the same runs over and over. Access was amazing. Lift lines were empty. Close in parking was half full. Staff was very nice. Rentals were in good condition.

My trip was great, we stayed in a slope side condo which was great for kids going right out to the lift. Grandby ranch is the perfect place for kids to learn. I have skied > 30 years so am very well versed in all the CO resorts, but for teaching kids and getting away from crowds so you can just focus the kids on gaining confidence it is great. Also for me I can ski some nice runs, even some blacks and still keep an eye on my kids!! Liftopia was great for tickets too. Only thing I could not do on liftopia was a JR single rental for some reason. Grandby Ranch is great . I used to work at Winter park so I take the time to check it out if you have any novice skiers in your group or boarders and then go to the bigger resorts when you are ready!!

This place is very good for a 1-day experience but you will probably ski everything available in less than 1 day. For a family with children it would be better because of the lower lift ticket prices.

Staying in Granby was great.. Laid back, no crowds but all you need.. My advice is to Visit Granby Ranch and Steamboat is only 1 1/2 hrs away worth the drive. Its pricey but its worth since you're already half way there. DO NOT GO TO WINTER PARK!!!!!! ITS A JOKE! BOARDERS BEWARE! 1. Parking lots are pure MUD 2. The greens are as flat as the parking lots, they should invent another color for that kind of flatness 3. The flat green trails cut across the black and blue runs coming down the mtn and its very dangerous.. I WILL NOT RETURN TO WINTER PARK UNLESS I START SKIING

This was our 4th trip to ski at Granby. Great for family skiing. Instructors are top notch. We brought some friends with us who now love Granby as much as we do.

Small, but great for young kids. You can keep an eye on them easier. I ski and my husband boards, the terrain parks were great. Everyone was very encouraging to my daughter while we were there, we taught her ourselves, she is 4. Neat little tunnels for her to go through also.

We visited Granby Ranch for the first time on December 31. Overall we were quite disappointed. The runs were nice, and not too crowded. However we got a package from Liftopia that included rentals. The rental location was part of Granby Ranch, which was convenient. But there was an hour wait to get skis. The skis had been used, but not had any maintenance. The food at the restaurants is fair, but very expensive. We noticed that most of the people there had brought their own food. There is a Subway, McDonalds, and a City Market (Supermarket) at the intersection leading to Granby Ranch. Buy your lunch there before going to the ski area. We would not go again.

Perfect place for beginner and or family ski trip. We did lessons and were extremely happy. Instructors were great & patient, lift lines were short. The snow was good, and they were still making snow. For a family that does not ski very often, if at all, I cant imagine there to be a better place to go.

My 5 year old learned to ski in one lesson! Great instruction and a wonderful gradual-sloped beginner's lift at the base of the moutain to reinforce skills learned. We are coming back to have our 3 year old learn to ski now which is great as many places don't have lessons for 3 year olds. We live in Colorado Springs and it's worth the drive!

Excellent, excellent, place for the family. Runs can be short, not many lines, not crowded, nice attendants, lots of green runs, Easy in and out from our condo. All in all, a great place for our family of novice, once-a-year skiiers.

Laid back place short lines, great people. Have fun we are already planning to come back. Less trails but with fewer people we had a great time

Sol Vista instructors are first rate. The "direct to parallel" teaching method gets kids (& adults) skiing by the end of the first day. A great place for young families, affordable and less crowded.
