Telluride is a ski resort located in Colorado with over 3500 feet of vertical, 18 lifts and 2000 acres of land. Telluride has a good mix of ability levels and terrain types, and fairly well separated. If you are into open bowl skiing, the newly opened Prospect Bowl is the place you want to be. Those who want steeps... or backcountry trails can find plenty here. Beginners have mid-mountain areas dedicated specifically to them, and there are intermediate cruisers a plenty. The resort is surrounded by a multitude of 14,000 foot mountains, in some of the most beautiful mix of desert and alpine landscape around. Two different towns with distinct styles connect the mountain and connected by a free gondola ride. Telluride has a lot of distinct features and everyone will find something they enjoy here. Reviews & Tips (4)

It was unanimous amongst avid skiers we spoke to while on the lifts in Telluride....Telluride is the best. We ventured to the Northern French Alps (Porte du Soleil) / Avoriaz, France. While it was very beautiful and a great experience, Telluride wins hands down!

We skiied Telluride Jan 2010. Going back Feb 2011. It is the best! There was an awesome black diamond run that was groomed top to bottom. What a cruiser! Also, chute 9 opened...a double black. Had to hike from the top (already at 12,000 feet) but it was worth it! This is more of an advanced skier's mountain.

when preparing for telluride remember the altitude may cause you problems as well as your need for water. due to the length of the runs at telluride, four hard runs can equal one day of skiing. if you think you have one more left in you, you probably don't.

Everyone I talk to says Telluride is the best skiing they've ever had - not only in the country, but in the Alps and BC. I'm going for the first time this winter, and it should be great! Telluride the town is a really cool old town.
