Reviews & Tips (2)
Yes you have to go down steps to get to the base. Its not that bad, I've skied in Tahoe and Park City and sometimes you have to navigate steps at the big mountain resorts too. Just be careful. As far as the hill, its okay. The snow conditions are good, and they do a fine job grooming. The variety of runs aren't that interesting though, I'd like to see some trees planted to help define the runs and give it that up north feel. Also, I think the problem is not the overselling of tickets, it just seems like Brighton is slow to open up more lifts when it starts to get crowded. Been there about 6 times in the last 3 years, I've only skied the yellow chairlift runs once (which are nice) and never the silver chairlift on the backside - it appears that its permanently broken. Even so, I've never had much of a problem in the merge areas, but if they would open more lilfts, the merge areas would be less of an issue. Never had a problem with the staff, they have always been fine. Although the ski patrol had to "evaluate" me when I asked for a bandaid for a blister that was starting on my heel before they would give me one. Seriously. The best thing about Brighton is that its close, relatively cheap, and they have late night hours periodically. Its a good place to teach kids, but try to go during off peak hours with your kids.

Don't waste your time or money. The base is in a pit with the chalet on the side of the pit. You have to get yourself, equipment, children down the "STEPS of DEATH" to enter the facility. Over selling of tickets and common merge area spells disaster. Not family friendly and very poor attitudes. Would not let my under 5 year olds in without paying. Cash only at the cafeteria, by appointment only in the restaurant where we waited 40 min to get served. Any need to use the facilities requires navigating the "Steps of Death" to get off the base.
