Lost Trail Reviews & Tips (9)

Best area in Montana! If you are looking for silky pow, no lift lines, affordable prices, this is it! Most bang for your buck anywhere in the west. Head to the lean-to on the top right side of the terrain park to take a break from puking skies. No, there's no high-speed lifts but when you're paying less than half of resort prices, who cares! Eat your lunch on the lift!

I could ski for 4 days at Lost Trail (with the Liftopia deal) for what one day at Big Sky cost me. (And Liftopia doesn't have Big Sky tickets.) I had a great time at Lost Trail, it is a great, Old School area. Head over to the Saddle Peak lift. The glades were a lot of fun with 4 in of new snow, they would be awesome with 12+ in of fresh.

One of the best hills in the West! And I live in Ketchum, Idaho and have a had a season pass to Sun Valley for 20+ years. Lost Trail is THE anti overpriced mega resort. With Liftopia and a $10 gift card from Sierra Trading my husband and I skied for two consecutive days for $95. That is less than one person for one day at SV. Even though we did not receive new snow- we skied fresh snow in the trees and glades finding soft pockets of fluff in all chutes/trees in the White House. Tree skiing is outstanding.Something for everyone. This is a family friendly ski hill with excellent beginner terrain and lots of advanced terrain- and the snow on the groomed runs is soft- perfect for learning and advancing. Too many good things to say- we will be back! Skied Jan 23 & 24, 2015.

Hidden gem! Been skiing, riding 45 years. This place is one of the best deals on the planet. Great , friendly small mountain vibe with way more trees, bowls and terrain than can be skied in a day. The 23"of powder we had on our second day was a plus! No high speed quads here but the result is quality untracked powder to be had days after a storm. They did a great job with the runs they did groom. The yurt at chair 4 is a fun place for lunch. Definitely will be back, lots of mt still to do.

Ski the glades on Chair 4. The tree skiing was just the best on New Years Day of 2015. Lots of snow, and more fresh powder was on its way. Learned that when the main lodge is packed during the lunch hour, there is great food in the yurt at the bottom of chair 4. Good times, great people, (Patsy Hastings for one), and such a nice Family ski hill all around. I will be back in February for a couple of days for sure. Finished the day with a glass of Hot Spiced Wine!

Staff was very friendly and fun. Food in the lodge was very good. Trail conditions were excellent with a nice combination of groomed and powder. Lost Trail does not have a magic carpet in the beginner area which was a draw back for our youngest who likes to start the day with a few easy runs. We didn't try the rope tow that is used there instead. When we visited, Liftopia tickets were picked up inside the lodge and not at the ticket office. There is no wifi service in the lodge, but phone service is available on most of the mountain so text messaging works well and you will not need radios. We will definitely return to Lost Trail.

My kids went and had a blast. My youngest had a lesson and the instructor was great with her. The others had a great day of skiing in both groomed and powder. A great time was had by all.
