Hoodoo Reviews & Tips (24)

We attended the demo day at Hoodoo. It was so much fun. It was well organized and so easy to try many new skis. The day was perfect starting out cold and clear. I would definitely attend the demo day. Thanks to Berg's and Sven for making it happen. Hoodoo is my favorite place to ski. The staff there are exceptional and very helpful. The sun shines often. I can't wait to go back!

Went on $10 day thanks to Liftopia for my daughter's birthday. April Fool's Day, maybe 20 people there total, it seemed like! Of course it was warm and the snow was like slush, so not the world's best skiing, but the friendly staff and no lift lines at all made up for that and it's not Hoodoo's fault that it is warmer in April. We've gone to Hoodoo before and everyone had a good time, good variety of runs for various styles and abilities. Due to my knee injuries from long past days of racing, I was limited by the slushy snow to the green runs, but that was ok because I was mostly just there to teach my daughter and her friend--both 14 and both bare beginners. We had lots of fun. My tip? Bring a cooler full of food and drinks, dress in the parking lot, and don't bother with the high prices in the lodge for food. Ask staff for help with anything equipment related--they are wonderful, caring and very happy to help or give advice.

Had another good day with my 4 year old. We discovered some nice little nooks and cranny "tree" runs on the side of the green runs on the Manzanita chair. They have little green "street signs" on the trees near the entrance. Great for the little ones to get in the trees with some bumps and jumps. There was the Scrambled Egg, Pancake, and Oh-Dee-Oh (or something like that). It's a nice change of pace and keeps the little ones entertained nicely. There was an unlabeled area next to the Three Creeks run that had a steep slide back onto the run that was a fun and popular spot. All in all, I think Hoodoo has a nice variety of runs. Our other favorite was going down the bottom half of Impossible Dream on the Hodag chair (our vote for the best blue run there). The top part is almost always icy, but if you take Over Easy to the mid point, it's a great run down from there.

Great time as always. The sun was out and warm. There were just a few of us out there and no lines at all.

My wife, 12 yr old daughter and her bestfriend and I had a great time on the mountain, they had taken a snowboard lesson 2 wks earlier and we decided to go back and get more snow time under our belts, it was a blast we had great weather, and it was a great bonding experience, and ended up with some really good pictures with great views to remind us of our trip.

Hoodoo has exceptional customer service and is family friendly. My 4 and 6 year old kids are consistently supported by the lift op's with Hi-5's and helping them load on their own. They are on their way to a lifetime of skiing and that's partly due to Hoodoo's commitment to a family friendly environment.

Weather was great and no long lines (everyone at home watching superbowl). Staff was very friendly. We would probably go again. The biggest reason for not going again would be that they don't have any microwaves available like at alot of other mountains. You are forced to pay ~$9 bucks for a cheeseburger (ummm no fries just the burger)

It is as they say steep deep and with your help cheap. Nice package makes it far more affordable then any of the " big " hills. Favorite part, no lines.

Great place to take your friends or family members who are just starting. Beginner area is very accessible from lodge. Helpful staff members at the rental shop even solved an equipment problem on rental equipment from another shop - without charge. Great place for spring skiing for advanced and expert skiers because of all the north-facing steeps. This area also grooms its runs well - not taking that every-other-day shortcut seen at some other areas. Hoodoo often has good snow into April.

Great trails and customer service. We were bummed that the weather conditions weren't ideal on the day we went. We enjoyed a few good runs but left due to rain. Thanks for the great deal... planning another trip in the future!

Went with my 4 year old. Great weather and cheap tickets were great. A few tips: 1. The green run from the top is an access strip that is about 15 feet across which is not steep at all, but for very beginners, it can be a bit scary as it falls off to various black runs on one side. 2. There are several non-obvious paths to come down from the mid way and Ed's lift that is okay for lower level intermediates. Get out an explore so you don't feel stuck on the lower lift. 3. It's a little bit colder and icier on the east end (Ed's lift), but the runs are wide open and great practicing for intermediates. I can't wait to go again with my little one. I will definitely explore more terrain next time though rather than sticking to the Manzanita chair all of the morning before venturing out a little more.

hidden gem for snowboarding. Great prices (especially with discounted tickets) and great little lodge for hanging out with friends.

Went New Years Day & Eve. All the runs were groomed! Had a fabulous time. If money permits more lights for night skiing would be awesome. Especially under Ed Chair.

Great little mountain, even better with discount lift tickets. There are never long lines at the lifts there. Staff is very friendly. Lots of off piste runs. Can be a bit exposed to the weather sometimes and the lower elevation means wetter snow, but when the pow hits, it is a great place to be.
