Mt. Bachelor Reviews & Tips (19)
Didn't know exactly what to expect other than info from Liftopia and the resort web site. Turns out Mt. B. is better than I expected. When I arrived in Bend it seemed odd there was no snow and I couldn't even see Bachelor or the Sisters from our location. Be prepared for a 30 minute drive from closest lodging in town to the ski area parking. Once up there you'll find easy access to everything, relatively short lift lines, halfway decent food and better than average grooming. I'm used to Sierra Cement but up here they call their snow Cascade Champagne and it was sweet and smooth after 5 days of snow before we arrived. Plenty of good runs and combining a run from the summit to the main lodge is a long ride worth taking. I recommend a visit and will gladly return sometime. If you dine in town try 900 Wall. You won't be disappointed.

If it's real stormy and windy on the west side, head towards the sunshine and rainbow lifts. More mellow terrain but more sheltered and a good possibility of fresh tracks.

Great trip however ticket price was the same at the mountain as liftopia.

OMG! This place it a mind blower! Dry snow, endless powder, super nice staff, awesome food at a fair price (meatball sandwich rules!). Kids ate up the terrain park in a big way. Half pipe was pretty fun. Thanks to the ski ambassadors that just hang around the top of the lifts, asked if everything was cool, what level of ability we were at, and pointed us to awesome trees and powder. Never parked more that 300 ft. from the lodge. A multi day ticket rocked as we only had to buy it once (and not hit ticket counter subsequent days). Never made it to the top due to weather but I had such a good time it's was fine. Not only am I coming back but a spring pass looks very tempting, even with a 200 mile drive. Liftopia saved be $40 bucks over 2 days. This resort rules so much though that I'm glad to pay the extra $20/day to know I'll be hitting a sunny day.

Great for kids if you have them. Got our 4 yr old full week in signature start program. Half day daycare half day ski lesson. Staff was great. Daughter loved them, loves skiing.

Go there early (on or b4 8:00am). Park in the Sunrise lot (close to lift). Prepare for all kinds of weather, cause it can change in a hurry. Thanks Liftopia for great service.

Had a blast! Were fortunate to have some great runs off the summit chair, lots of FRESH powder and even good food! First time I ever used liftopia and it won't be the last. Typically ski Tahoe Resorts being from Sacramento but this was definitely worth the drive and sure to become a yearly thing.

I got there after it had dumped for several days. Conditions were perfect! Consider yourself lucky if the Summit Express is open. Take advantage and ski or board the back side. Liftopia saved me about $30 for a 2 day pass. I am telling everyone about Liftopia!
Mt. Bachelor review written Mar 07 2011 - 02:03 PM
Don't always believe the weather forecast! Sometimes it is cloudy/foggy in town, but the mountain is above the cloud line. Lots of new snow, more coming - what are you waiting for?
Mt. Bachelor review written Mar 06 2011 - 02:10 PM
Managed to time my trip for the best snowfall so far in the 2010-2011 season! Liftopia saved me more than $40 for the two days! Sweet.

Don't park where the parking guys tell you to. Go past them and park by the wall closest to the mountain. It is much closer, and you can ski right to your car.

Loved being back there (used to live in Bend) but it is SO much bigger! Great skiing on Outback/Northwest with fresh (not light) snow, wonderful mini bowls and tree skiing. The Summit Chair was cloed both days :( , but there was lot's of skiing on the other side. Bend is a very cool, not so little town....

What a beautiful mountain! We did not have very good snow, but it was still awesome!
Mt. Bachelor review written Feb 14 2011 - 07:23 AM
Not a lot of beginner trails, some actually start off as intermediate and then change to beginner. weekday afternoon pass for just one lift (sunshine express) is $25 and might be a good way to ease into the mountain if you are a beginner. a lesson plus lift ticket is $80, a lift ticket is usually $70 so that is also a pretty good deal for a beginner.

It's a long drive from anywhere but once you get there it's a hidden gem. Great back country, lift service, and nordic skiing all in the same place.
Mt. Bachelor review written Jan 18 2011 - 12:43 PM
stay calm and dont crash.
Mt. Bachelor review written Dec 22 2010 - 03:33 PM
It's a BIG mountain with exposure on almost all sides. If weather or wind blow in from one side - just move to ski or board the other!

Go early, go often!
If you can see the mountain from the city of Bend GO!
