Mt. Ashland Reviews & Tips (5)

Great place on a sunny day -- lots of groomers. Awesome place on a powder day -- hit the bowl, ski the trees, it's fun all over! Good place to learn to ski and it will keep you interested as an intermediate and advanced snow sport enthusiast. Friendly and helpful staff. Fun bar. Very reasonable prices for tickets, lessons, food and drink. Super views -- Mt. Shasta to the south and Mt. McLoughlin to the northeast.

I grew up skiing at a small ski area in New England, and Mt. Ashland reminds me so much of those fond memories: a fun, family-friendly, community-based mountain without the huge price tags, long lift lines or pretense. Mt. Ashland is easy to get to, has a huge, beautiful lodge where seating is most always available (the views are spectacular and there's free wifi!), reasonable pricing and great lesson options/packages/kids program. Don't worry about wearing/owning the latest swag; Mt. Ashland is not a flashy resort where people come "to be seen." On the contrary, people come for the varied and challenging skiing - there's something for everyone! -- and the inclusive environment where there's a real sense of community. The Sonnet chairlift is the perfect beginner hill if your tykes are just starting out, and kids under 6 are FREE - so are seniors over 70 :) Friendly lift operators make sure your ride is safe and enjoyable, complete with good music. Mt. Ashland also has a lot of fun events; check out the occasional band playing in the lodge, night skiing, Demo Days, the Screamin' Tele Lizard Race, and Bavarian Night. There's a variety of food options, or feel free to bring your own. Adults might enjoy one of the many northwest microbrews on tap, especially from the sunny deck overlooking the mountains. Stay in Ashland, and you're only a half hour away from a fabulous day at Mt. A (and don't forget to check out the town of Ashland, too - what a fun town!) Come with your family, your friends, or come by yourself; everyone fits in and is welcome! I've been skiing here for years!

Fun, Family-Friendly Mountain with Great Skiing! Advanced Skier
Great beginner hill for our 4 & 7-year old boys, right by the lodge, bathrooms etc. Nice longer runs for the rest of us, incredible views and we'll be headed back for more :)

Mt. Ashland is one of the best kept secrets on the West Coast! 15 minutes from Interstate 5. 30 minutes from the town of Ashland with a vast array of high quality lodging and dining options. Lift lines are virtually unheard of there. We loved it!

Liftopia purchased tickets must be redeemed at the main lodge. Don't waste time in the rental line. Good mountain for intermediate/advanced skiers - the good terrain is in the bowl. Crappy lifts, not a long mountain. I would go again, but not for more than the $30 lift on Lifttopia
