Wachusett Reviews & Tips (9)
i have been a wachusett season pass holder for many years as it is a local mountain and i skirace there. my children learned to ski there and we considered it our home mountain. we have had a number of negative experiences due to lack of staff in the right spots at the right time. it is rare to find a ranger or patroller on the "family trails" and many speed through. yesterday, my son and his friend were harrassed, intimidated and then surprised and attacked by 5 kids at the mountain. we reported it, the others did not, the answer was that my son who tried to defend himself, received the same consequence as the children who attacked him. the mountain stands by this, but did not ask any relevant questions, did not ask if my child was ok physically, did not follow up, did not seem to question the fact that bullies- when questioned- would deny a story. the only person from the mountain who may have seen the situation was one patroller who stopped briefly and kept on going as my son was on the ground being hit by two other kids. though i am not a believer in violence and never tell him to use it...i am glad that he protected himself to avoid a more signficant amount of hitting by the others and was able to get away...the answer from wachusset- he should have told..well, he did..the others didn't ..don't bring your family here...

This mountain is a great family place! The staff makes everything run smooth and seamless. Our party has all level skiers and boarders and thereis something for everyone. On the busiest day the lift lines are no longer than 10 minutes. The instructors are great. My daughter tried skiing for the first time and had Pete Yvanovich and he was beyond our expectations. We will request him in the future for a private lesson as wellas many others. We are constantly bringing friends to try Wachusette...it never fails!

50-50 was a great deal and well worth the trip. The lodge staff was helpful but not overly nice, however, the skiing instructor was really great, encouraging and very nice. The trails are perfect for beginners and intermediate.. nothing too advanced. I was impressed with the terrain park and the mountain in general had nicely groomed trails for a great day of easy coasting. I would definitely come back and would make frequent trips if I lived nearby.

The Wachusett 50-50-50 package was a GREAT deal. I was able to get a few runs in during the morning and my friend received a lesson, rentals and lower level lift ticket. The discounted price definitely made it worth it if you are helping someone to learn to ski in the afternoon on the bunny hill.

Wachusett skiing was great for a beginning/intermediate skier. There are plenty of blue trails that offer good practice and are also challenging. Was very busy on Saturday, but conditions were great. Also, the 50-50-50 Wachusett deal on Liftopia is great if you have someone in your ski group who needs a ski/snowboard rental. You can upgrade the lower lift ticket to a full lift for $14 more. Wonderful!

This year I noticed that new snowguns have reduced icy patches. I have heard the stories about the weekend crowds so my experience is limited to weekdays. Long lift lines have never been a problem for me and the quads get you up fast.

Great lifts, good snow, very busy Sat and Sun after 10 am. If you can only ski at weekends you must arrive very early to get an upper level parking spot and enjoy great crowd free skiing for 2-3 hours. No lift lines, great trail conditions and crowd free trails. Mid week skiing is great and crowd free. It can get icy but not more than any other ski area in the east. Lodge is unbearable during the weekend. Nights get packed with school kids and teenage snowboarders, nothing wrong with that but you must keep an eye out for 'careless' behavior. food is expensive but not terrible and not worse than any other mountain in the east. Staff is fairly friendly and helpful. Overall a good little mountain that does get busy being so close to the city

The conditions are usually good. They have new snowguns this year. Not at icy as years past. Hard pack groomers. The lift lines are rediculous during Saturdays/Sundays. Night riding has no lift lines and they re-groom before the night session. The lifts are pretty quick and detachables. Good for all abilities. On the smaller side. I visit often. Take a cruise down 10th Mountain and stop in the Bullock Lodge!
