Ski Bromont Reviews & Tips (3)

My girlfriend and I traveled to Bromont for skiing during Valentines weekend. We bought 8 hour tickets via Liftopia which was an easy process. Upon reaching the mountain the temp at the base was about -19C, and as such we asked the ski rental staff if the weather would support an 8 hour rental of equipment. I stated that my girlfriend was a beginner and if it was poor weather on the hill that we would prefer a shorter rental. The staff stated that the weather was great up top. This was not the case as it the winds were about 40-50 km/hr at the top, making the conditions failrly miserable. There were several instances where the staff seemed to take advantage of people from Quebec. The snow conditions were icy and the trails were not well maintained. I would not recommend taveling to this resort unless you were local or had no other options.

I went with my wife, who is a beginner. She wanted to go down the bunny hill once or twice before going up the mountain. We found the bunny hill extremely short and narrow which made it close to impossible to practice what she was taught. They put some sort of an obstacle run in the middle of it which narrowed it significantly. My wife is still unsure on skies and she is very conscious of her surrounding and other beginners coming down behind her. After two descent, we decided to go up and come down the easy run (Brome). She was able to better practice as this trail is not very steep. If anyone wants to use the bunny hill I suggest you do it once and head to the Brome trail as it is very suitable for beginners. Other than that, it was a great time skiing.
