Bretton Woods is the largest ski area in New Hampshire. Its skiing and snowboarding area covers 434 acres, 10 lifts, and 101 developed trails and glades. Most of the skiable terrain is an assortment of beginner and intermediate runs. West Mountain has some black and double black diamonds, so advanced skiers or snowboarders will probably want to spend their time... almost exclusively on that side of the resort. At the base there is a bunny hill and two slightly longer beginner stretches. Bretton Woods has night skiing and riding, alpine racing, four terrain parks, ski and snowboard school, childcare, and on site lodging and dining. During the summer there is a range of activities including a golf course, spa, canopy tours, tennis, fitness, lift-access mountain biking, and more. Read more

Awesome conditions on 1/16/2012. Snow was in great shape and though there were more trails open last year due to a kinder winter season, the team at BW had done a great job opening as much as they did. Can't wait to go again.

We attempt to do an annual trip to Bretton Woods each year with the whole family around the holidays. As mother nature is not cooperating this year, the terrain was limited. However, what was open was well taken care of, despite the overnight rain of 1/1, fast, and it held up very well! We had a blast. The staff was always great as usual. Remember, ice can be your friend, as long as you put adequate knee into the hill! Think snow!

Looking at the trail count online, I was prepared for minimal fun. But my son and I went hard for over four hours and have absolutely no complaints. It was my first visit, and yeah, we wished a lot of those trails we saw from the lifts were open, but we couldn't stop skiing Zealand -- eight, nine times we shot down that one, and it was still in good shape at 1:30 p.m. Can't wait to go back when more trails open up, but even at 23-27 trails, this was a great day!

I went to Bretton woods for the first time last winter and fell in love!! I board around 10 times a year and this became one of my favorite mountains in the first time I was there!! Not only is the the mountain great for skiing and boarding, it has the most beautiful views in the Northeast, with Washington across the street!! I would highly reccomend it to any skiier or boarder at any level...unreal!!

I love Bretton Woods - I have always found the staff to be exceptionally friendly and always helpful! I've read alot of people saying that it's too flat - I guess if you are a serious olympic skier, maybe so - but for the upper intermediate/low expert that I am , it's great! Love Bode's Run - love WEst Mountain! Lunch at Top o'Quad is a treat!

Bretton Woods consistently has the best snow around. Great views, too, as well as a mellow vibe. Overall most terrain is gentle, and the steeps tend to be short. But if you think this is a boring mountain, you just haven't ventured very far from the pleasant groomers in the middle part of the mountain. There's plenty of challenge and variety if you seek it out - often lots of fresh powder, too. Try Dave's Drop or Sly Fox for short steep pitches, and Darby's Drop and the left (ungroomed) side of Firetower/McIntyres for some nasty bumps. A few narrow chutes will really test your quick turning skills: Jump Turn, Fast Fall, Peombeck Falls, and Inferno, to name a few. Try Devil's Den if you don't mind steeps with a few rocks, stumps, and a cliff thrown in. Some of the glades way off the beaten path are not only challening but magical in their atmosphere: Snowmaker's Gulley, Stickney #4 & 5, and Mr. Moose are a few on the Rosebrook side of the mountain; Maplewoods, John Graves, Cliff's Cliff, and Boundary Line on the Weest Mountain side. And one final tip: When you get off the West Mountain chair, take a 5 minute detour and hike about 50 yards straight back from the top of the chair - you'll come to rocky ledge with a view that will take your breath away. Hope to see you up here!

I agree this place is probably great for families and kids, but my friends and I were quite disappointed with our trip. The "blues" here barely felt like green. Most "black" slopes are very short, not too challenging, and often result in a painful flat traverse later. The glades were definitely the best part and we spent most of our time in them. If you are not a beginner skiier, I would not recommend going here. I think you'll get bored quickly, especially with other ski resorts with more variety available in the area. We went because they seemed to have the best snow conditions last weekend, but I would not go again.

I was in charge of planning our family ski adventure (15 of us) I picked Bretton Woods due to its varied terrain, something for everyone. The conditions were amazing but unfortunately the weather did not cooperate- 40-60 mph gusts and sleet/rain so no vistas. We had fun anyway. Nice mountain, friendly staff. Food expensive.

Bob beginner and Brandon advanced,it was our first time their and we couldn't ask for a better day of boarding.Nice trails and people were very nice.Found it better on the middle and the left side or the mountain for both of us being different levels of boarding.

Bretton Woods is amazing. Best skiing around with wide open slopes and some awesome glade trails. Friendly staff too. One thing to note, bring food with you to the mountain as prices in the restaraunts are crazy.

I really enjoyed this mountain on Sunday. Beyond the great conditions I appreciated the diversity in the terrain. There are great glades in many different formats including some very approachable wide runs with sparse birch and pine to tight and hair raising runs with drops and river crossings that are out of reach without a hike. Best of all you've got great views of MT Washington when the clouds lift. Wicked ;)

Sunday afternoons are 15.00 lift tickets. I went on superbowl sunday figuring nobody would be there. The morning was great but people come out of the woodwork in the afternoon.

Last weekend was my first trip to Bretton Woods and it was killer. Best glade skiing I've experienced in NH and the backcountry stuff, while a hike to get there, was great once you got there. I'll definitely go back after a big dump of NE pow.
