Cranmore Mountain Reviews & Tips (27)

Good family mountain with great ski school and great amenities for a small mountain. The high speed summit quad gets you up the mountain quickly, and some of the runs are quite fast so you can get in a good amount of the mountain quickly. Incredible views also. Tough trek from south quad to Arlberg Ski School though.

Went on a mid-week day off from work--had a great time! The snow was great, lifts were empty, got in tons of runs. Definitely convenient place to go right in North Conway...usually I don't go to Cranmore because it is crazy expensive, but using Liftopia made it affordable. I like its small size and variety of runs--made for a relaxing ski day.

Took my family here for the 2nd time on Super Bowl Sunday. Had a great day but with a bad ending. A jacket was taken out of our bag and a pair of skis went missing. Checked with lost and found and nothing. Never experienced this in over 20 years of skiing and boarding. I heard another person saying their kids skis were "gone" before realizing our group lost a set too. Lesson learned - lock up your stuff. Overall mountain was in good condition for limited natural snow fall and staff is very friendly. Just sad to have our stuff be taken.

I have been skiing Cranmore, literally, for decades. Part of the reason was because an elderly friend of the family skied if from the beginning and know Hannes Schneider. Each time I ski the winding trails off to the left (coming off the chair) it brings back memories. This time I found new chairs and runs that have made skiing at Cranmore more pleasurable and reduced the lift lines. Plus, with the new mid-chair, you can stay on the upper half of the mountain avoiding racers and lesson skiers. If the weather is warming, the front slopes receive lots of sum. You may want try to avoid the them if you do not enjoy spring-like skiing conditions. Otherwise, you will find excellent grooming, family-friendly staff, and reasonably challenging runs for everyone.

I probably won't return to Cranmore to ski again. I was there after a big snowstorm that dumped over a foot of new snow on the trails and they just left it there. Only one trail was groomed. it looked as though they had their entire crew working on one section of the terrain park. It looks like a nice place to ski but there are plenty of other ski areas in New Hampshire that know how to groom.

I took my family there to have my two boys learn how to ski. One was 9 and the other was 11. The staff at the children's center could not have been any nicer or more helpful. From choosing and fitting them for their equipment to giving them lunch and answering our questions. On the slopes, Coaches Steffi and Mike were excellent on the first day. After lunch the boys were going down greens and getting on and off the lifts. On the second day, RJ took the two of them and continued to work on their turning on "French fries" instead of making "pizza wedges". They made great improvements over the 2 days and gave them confidence to go down on their own. We could be happier with our experience their. We will be going back again and again even though we are from NJ!

When you stop on a trail to rest or wait for others always do so on the sides not in the middle as i learned the hard way when i skied cannon a couple of weeks ago ,i stopped in the middle which i never do and i got run over by a skier going full speed ,neither of us were seriously hurt but we came away with some bruises ,that is my tip of the day.As for skiing Cranmore the conditions were excellent, they were almost 100% open and the lift attendants were very helpful and smiling all day i will definitely return to Cranmore in the future ,if you are an expert skier there may not be much of a challenge to you but the runs are fun and some are long cruisers.A great place to bring a family !

This is the only mountain around that i was able to get an affordable Trick/Terrain Park snowboard lesson for my son's 9th birthday. He had a private lesson with Dominic, who turned out to be a rockin cool dude (i'm quoting my son) and while we didn't watch the lesson, we saw the results when it was over. Clearly, Dominic had done a great job helping him refine his trick techniques, and build his confidence. Cash WELL spent. Cranmore offers several terrain parks of varying degrees of difficulty. As for the rest of the mountain, the black and blue sections of the hill have lots of fun twisty pathways, nastar race hill was in great shape, awesome views, but green-only skiers beware of heavy traffic! Many of the greens are narrow and when busy, really frustrating. Now that the kids are older and we can avoid the green superhighways, we enjoyed Cranmore a lot more than in past years!

Great staff, couldn't be more helpful. Can get icey when the top layer melts in the warm sun. Good dump of snow was welcomed by all. Good deals to be had on passes.

1200 feet of fun. Skied Xmas day 2011 and they worked HARD to get trails open for the big day after rain and weeks of 35- 40+ degree days. Great staff, true New England skiing, and a high speed quad with varied terrain, AND despite the limited vertical height, the trails are long enough to make the ride up well worth the trip down with smiles on. I'll go back later season when more is opened up, but they were making snow just in case (watch Mt. C snow reports). ...a big time family ski area btw!

My family and I skied Cranmore the last day of the season. I was very impressed how the conditions were even though they were closing that day. No lines and great snow till the end. A great mountain for families and the prices of our tickets on liftopia were even better. I've skiied Sunday River all winter long but i always manage a quick trip to Cranmore with the kids. I'll always go back..Oh ya I even tried the new Mountain coaster with my son, we rode double and flew!! Nice way to end my ski season.. I've bought my tickets all winter through Liftopia and you can't beet the deals. I just had to share with other familes... See ya next season....

Mweh, I wasn't impressed. Get the liftopia deal, because it's not worth $66 to ski here. Small, not challenging. would be good for families though.

My husband and I went to Cranmore for the first time.Very nice family Mt. I liked the way it was set up to ski off both sides of the mountain.varied trails some wide, some narrow, old new england meandering style. The sun just blasts the mountain. The best at the end of the day was the lodge at the top of the Mt. that served food, beer and wine. Out side deck with a great view. The people young and old were frendly.

I actually rode the skimobile in the old days. With my Attenhoffer skis and Cubco cleat bindings. The main lodge with the beautiful natural stone architecture. My favorite area in it's size class in NH. A perfect alternative if you get to Wildcat and the flags are straight out in the wind, and you have to force your car door open against the force of the wind. Cranmore's main express Quad gets you up the 1100 Vertical in no time and there are a lot of trails off the top to ski from . Then there is the back side with the oldest(?) operating lift in NH. Check out the riveted towers! So close to all the nearby in town apres scene. Exit to the north and come out near the Intervale towards Jackson and some of those apres locales as well. Cranmore relatively well protected terrain for skiing on nasty windy days. Lots of competition from nearby (?) Pleasant Mountain over the line in Maine. Pleasant may have changed their name? Attitash, Black and Wildcat with Sunday River not that far away either. Cranmore then seems to run more promos than the average overpriced mid sized ski area. Gunstock as an example, being probably the most egregiously expensive and being not much more than Cranmore for a ski experience. Nice flat parking areas right next to the slopes. Night skiing and tubing a favorite for pre and teens. Check their web site for deals and give them a call on the phone to find out about specials on lift rates. With that express main chair you can get a lot of runs in and really get your money's worth. Albeit a bit flat at the bottom. Great Family / beginner area too.
