Mount Sunapee is a medium ski area located in New Hampshire (US). The resort offers 10 lifts covering 1,513 feet vertical. Five of these lifts are dedicated to the “South Peak Learning Area,” which is almost completely separate from the rest of the resort (but still accessible by skiing), on the other side of the parking lot. The resort has... some interesting features, including 2 lifts tied to the “Six-O-Three” terrain park, and a large amount of glades spread throughout the upper parts of the park. Mount Sunapee offers daycare, and ski/snowboard instruction for different age groups and skill levels, including non-profit handicapped instruction. Read more

Reviews & Tips (5)
Visited Sunapee on "Magic Monday" 1/2/12 for half-priced tickets with my GF (who's a good skier). The 3-4 runs we did right before lunch were actually pretty great. It was mostly hard packed man-made snow that was well-groomed. Lines were reasonable.
We took lunch around 12:40 and when we got back out, you could have used hockey skates to get down the hill. Pretty unforgiving stuff once it was all blown/skied off: we both took spills that felt like wiping out on hard concrete.
Skiing in New England is going to suck until we get some real snow.
Tip from previous experiences at Sunapee: Its a great place to go on a mid-week snow day. Its jammed on Saturdays. Just big enough for a "real mountain experience" and it's just under 2 hours away from Boston. A g

Overpriced, terrible staff, crowded. I got a brochure from McDonalds and read about the NH Sunday special, and so when we got tickets the lady was like, "I never heard of that." So we ended up paying an extra $15 or so. The left part of the mountain (going up the lift or looking at a map) is usually the least crowded. Most bumps are seeded, and this place is groomed to death.

We went on a Sunday and the place was WAY TO CROWDED. As I understand it kids ski free on Fridays and Sunday. Wish I knew that before we went. We were waiting in line for the sunbowl lift for over forty minutes at one point. They actually started hawking drinks and burritos to the mob of disgruntled skiers waiting in line. Its too bad because the trails themselves were awesome and not crowded at all. Bottle neck was def the lifts. Lodges were also a total riot scene. I would avoid this place like the plague on the weekends.

Great ski area in it's size class, much upgraded in the Ten years or so since being leased by Okemo. Check into the 1/2 day Sunday ticket deals for NH and maybe VT too residents with ID. Very decent snowmaking program. Other deals too check their website for Ladies days carload days etc. Good strong management team very dedicated to the customer satisfaction. Nice flat parking area nice views of the lake. Road in and out to I-89 a bit of a challenge. Many speed traps so be careful going down hill .. in your car.
