Families have been coming here for more than four decades because this family-run area offers what they want: three separate beginner areas, a fine suite of cruising terrain, enough steep stuff to keep the family experts happy for a weekend, and programs designed to keep everyone happy.
With the tubing park right in the thick of things and a large, central ... base lodge, there's little chance of getting lost. All trails lead home, and with a new triple in the Valley area getting to the trails entails very little waiting. Beginners will be thrilled to find a long top-to-bottom run just for them (Breeze to Zephyr to Blast), while East Wind, Duster, Squall Line, Cyclone, and Twister provide increasing levels of challenge to those who like to cruise. Four trails for the most advanced members of the family comprise the terrain in the middle part of the mountain. Tornado, Hurricane, Vortex, and the F.I.S. Race trail provide real teeth to this small mountain; the latter offers a genuine racing challenge. Besides hosting many a high school and league race, F.I.S. is home to the ski team of New England College.
A well maintained terrain park in the Valley area will keep the freestyle crowd happy, and an expanded night schedule means you can get out and work off a hearty dinner under the lights. Read more

Pats Peak Reviews & Tips (24)
Had a random freak accident and was ignored by staff day of and when contacting them after due to severity of injuries!
The staff in no way makes any effort to inform people of any rules or safety measures for tubing! And the mesh fencing with exposed metal poles is a huge safety risk!
My husband and I thought the tubing sounded like a fun way to spend the day. We have done it at numerous places in Massachusetts and always enjoyed it. Usually before you go down the hill or when you are purchasing the tickets some asks if you have tubed with them before. It is usually then explained the tubing rules for that specific hill. If you can lie on your stomach or if they prefer you to sit in the tube legs out, if you can go down in groups or not etc. My husband went down ahead of me and sat in his tube. The person who told him he was "clear to go" looked at him and never said we don't allow sitting like that here. It was after he slammed into the netting at the top of the hill you have for breaking that the girl at the bottom told him he could not sit like that and needed to drag his feet. I layed down on my stomach to go down and not only went to the top of the brake hill but as my tube got caught in the mesh you have at the top it sent me flying in the air. I was lucky to come down on the same side of the net as the tubing hill and not on the back side and I very clearly remember looking down with the netting underneath me having no clue which side I was going to land on and praying it was the tubing hill side. As I came down my head hit on the metal pole they have holding the mesh up. When I landed at the bottom the girl said to me extremely coldly "you didn't drag your feet." Falling head over heals down the stopping slope my shirt and coat rode up to a mortifying level and at that point I left and did not take the time to evaluate my injuries and ask for insurance information. When we got back to our hotel I realized that not only did I have a bump on my head, but a chipped and cracked front tooth (which I now find out requires a root canal) as well as numerous bruises and a fat lip that appeared the next morning.
The staff in no way makes any effort to inform people of any rules or safety measures! And the mesh fencing with exposed metal poles is a huge safety risk!

We had a great trip to Pats Peak early in the season 2012. Lift tickets were discounted because only about half the trails were open. We really enjoyed ourselves despite that - the runs that were open were great and encompassed a variety of skill levels that kept things fun. This slope was one of my favorites that we visited in the area because the beginner trails weren't beginner level because they were just short and simple. Many of them were long and windy, which I really like after a long day of harder slopes. I'm a skiing tourist sometimes.
The snow was decent considering it was December and it had rained the two days before we arrived. The lifts are a bit slow by today's standards but adequate. Food in the lodge is as expensive as you would expect - fill up on FANTASTIC pancakes at Intervale on your way to the slopes and then have a giant cookie for a snack later in the day in the lodge.
I will definitely return next time I'm in New Hampshire to this small but mighty mountain with plenty of charm.

Pats Peak is great for beginners and advanced skiers or snowboarders. I've been there at least 15 times. Its a great little mountain. If your advanced I would suggest trying vortex and hurricane, great runs!

Took our boys for their second time skiing (15,14 and 8) on a sunday- We only bought the valley side tix as they were cheaper and for us begiinner skiers/borders it was perfect. The mini terrain park was a huge hit as they were taking jumps by the end of the day. If you're a beginner save some money and just do valley lift ticket.- It was more than enough for us as our second time out.

In the words of a friend who is a big mountain ski instructor from Jackson visiting the "Peak": "This place is the biggest small mountain in the industry." If you're a freeheeler, like me, there's no better place to ready your chops for the trees and big back-country. Surprisingly, and sadly, there is no telemark program per se there (a missed opportunity for sure), but there are at least a couple of full-time telemark instructors on staff. PP has all levels of terrain represented. The place has that old time, "Town Hill" feel. Nothing on the slopesides but trees (and secret natural mini- hits, sssshhhhhhhh!).

try to avoid going during POP, it gets really crowded and the beginners are so fearless it's scary! You see never-evers on the double black diamonds (that for the most part seem like blues)in the widest snowplough or side-slipping down the entire thing. Tornado was more like a human slalom! Also, use the vortex double, the top is usually a little steep, but it's faster and usually no lines.

Pats Peak is surprisingly fun and very affordable for a small mountain. My daughter has learned to ski well here under my tutelage & the midweek and Saturday nite POP tix are a great bargain!

Althouth there isn' much vertical they do have a great variety of terrain for everyone. Believe all the comments on the kindness of the staff, there true. We started to get a bit bored towards 1-2 pm, a full day may be to much for some people.

A great value at a great little mountain, especially when compared against nearby Sunapee, which is now charging an outrageous $68 for weekday lift tickets.

Pt's Peak is great. Not the biggest mountain, but everyone is friendly and it's never crowded even during school vacations. I never have to wait in a lift line which is a huge bummer for me. The conditions are always great, night skiing across the whole mountain, lots of different terrain, etc. How can you not love Pat's Peak for the quality and value?
Pats Peak review written Jan 28 2011 - 12:28 PM
Best conditions all season! Love that all the lifts go to the top. Easy to get around without a trail map. Nice wide, open trails. Great lodge, although typical of a ski area, the food is expensive.

Pats is the best with regards to service - it is all about the service. The day was windy and a little icy from the weekend freeze - but we had a great day out there on the slopes.
If you have not been here - you are missing out!

First time at Pats Peak, great place! People were super friendly and the trails (for a smaller ski hill) were nice and long and the conditions were awesome. Great family place too and the learning area looks to be perfect for those learning to ski!

My wife and I had a great time at Pat's Peak last Tuesday. It was one of the only mountains in New Hampshire to have all of its trails open on December 21st, and they were well groomed. They had some great beginner slopes, not much of a crowd, and a very friendly and helpful staff who really cared about your experience. I definitely recommend this mountain to people of all levels.

I have been skiing at Pat's Peak for 6 years now. This is a great small mountain for all skiers/boarders. They have a great park and a mini park for beginners. You can't beat their POP on Saturday nights $39 for rentals and lift tickets and tubing..best value for beginners. Check it out you won't be sorry....

I skied Pats Peak for the first time last season. It is great, because my friends are more advanced skiers than me, but we can "ski together" by riding the same lift. They skied the double blacks while I stayed on the greens and blues from the top of the mountain.
