Greek Peak Reviews & Tips (20)

I've skied here since I was 5-and love it. Not much has changed but that is fine with me. I think the best runs are: Illiad, Odyssey, Olympian and Eysian Fields. They have fairly continuous pitch and are long cruisers with some bumps mixed in. They also have the best snow coverage. I find you can get the best skiing and the most runs here, And take a break easily and get back out quickly. I go every year and never get bored.

We're from Toronto, Canada and took a 4 hour drive to Greek Peak and Hope Lake Lodge. Kids are 8 and 10. My husband is a more experienced skier, my kids have just learned this year and I would say I'm a beginner (green/blue runs) We thoroughly enjoyed our experience skiing and water-parking during our kids' March break! The resort wasn't that crowded (their Spring break doesn't line up with ours and we have heard it never gets too crowded unless they have a Sunday special) and the runs are groomed and LONG compared to local hills in Toronto and Area. Greek Peak is well designed if you bring your own equipment (parking and drop off is close to the chalet and lifts). The cafeteria is also conveniently located on the first floor, facilities are spacious and tidy - great if you have kids. You can bring your own snacks and food and there are a lot of tables/chairs in the foyer for you to eat comfortably. We were shuttled in from across the street. We left our hotel room with our skiboots on, and the shuttle transported our skis and poles. We didn't have to bring anything else with us. Very convenient! I would definitely recommend and return back here again. With young kids, we would much rather just do a 4 hour drive compared to a 7-8 hour one to go to Vermont.

We love Greek Peak! We were there President's Day weekend and had a great time depsite the frigid cold. The trails were well groomed, the staff was friendly, and the crowds were not bad at all. We will definitely go back.

We just returned from Greek Peak skiing Monday and Tuesday during/after Linus. Great conditions. Exceptionally friendly people. We had the place almost to ourselves. Was disappointed though that some lifts were not open during the week...only the weekend. Something to keep in mind if you're skiing during the week.

My family just got back from Greek Peak having skied there January 30- February 1, 2015. While I was a bit nervous traveling there from Philadelphia with all the bad reviews, we went for a ski and Hope Lake Lodge getaway. I really don't know what people are talking about. The wide open slopes, no crowds, good snow...a really great place! My 4 teenage boys loved the glades!! The staff were so helpful. The lift workers called a bus to get us on the far left slope when my son's snowboard binding broke then the repair shop fixed it for free. Maybe the lifts were a little slow. Maybe people were dissing the place because they don't want anyone to find this gem.

I first learned to ski at Greek Peak as a kid, so this place is special for me. Never the less, it's certainly true that they've focused more on their real estate development than mountain improvements. This year, they opened a new quad lift, but I was very surprised that it's not a high-speed detachable. Going from two seats to four is still a big improvement, however. I skied last Saturday, and found the conditions decent, but they are really struggling to make snow this year, I'd say about half the mountain is open (No Greek Peak East), and they couldn't get around the warm weather that they had after Christmas. They just don't have the snowmaking capacity of areas like Bristol. Greek has always had good customer service, and they have a good learner's area. My advice is to never show up and pay full price at the ticket window, but shop Liftopia in advance for a deal, as you just can't expect to have all the trails open. I hope the snowfall this week helps!

Even though there has been little snow fall this year,we thoroughly enjoyed our days at the Greek. Lots of terrain, groomed well and continually making snow. It would be even a better ski stop with more snow. We will be back.

One of the lifts was closed due to a damaged compressor. Some bare spots but any day of skiing is better than a day without. New owners are doing a great job given the weather.

A bit pricey but Liftiopia helped make it worthwhile. We did spring skiing and there were bare spots but on the other hand no one was there!! The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were surprised at the number of trails although many were closed. The charlifts are slow and need updating but no lift lines made up for it. Greek Peak was just sold and hopefully the new owners will update the chair lifts.

Had a great trip with my family. We were really lucky with the snow and conditions were great. The ski school was AWESOME for my girls 4 and 6. My six yr old was ready for any green by day four of skiing. They loved their instructors and so did I. We did not have a good experience at the lodge. The wage park was way too expensive and did have a lot for the kids to do. That was a waste of time and money. Next time I'm staying in town for real food and a nice experience but going to the hill for skiing and lessons.

Skiing was great. We skiied all day in falling snow. Lines were fairly short, and we had no problem usong liftopia. I had prepared everyone that they needed to show ID ( there were 9 of us ) but I went up to the counter and showed my receipt and the man printed all nine tickets out and handed them to me. Super easy!! I would definitely use Liftopia again.

This is a great place to learn how to ski and or attempt skiing after a long subaticle from the sport. the price is fair, the staff is wonderful and friendly and there are enough runs to keep me interested. I can hardly wait to buy my season pass for next year.

The snow was great considering it was towards the end of March. Lift lines were short, the staff was very courteous and helpful in the rental area. It was a good day skiing for me, and snowboarding for my son. I never hesitate to go back. Did some different trails, which showed the diversity of the slope. Intermediate trails are good, there are enough beginner trails to break up the monotony.

First time there enjoyed a day on new slopes. My family enjoyed the glades most of all; we don't have tree skiing on our local mountains Elk and Sno. Will probably go back another year; there wasn't enough hard terrain for multiple trips a year. Very little lift line wait on a Sunday.

Had a great day for skiing conditions were perfect. After skiing went to the Lake lodge to check out the water park and felt that I got a cold reception from the reception desk.
