Cascade Mountain Reviews & Tips (18)

they do a good job of grooming. I think the food is good

Went on a Friday definitely less crowded. Which, gave us plenty of time to ski. A few issues. 1. Make sure you bring your own food. While they do have food available it is very pricey and the quality is less than one would expect for a lodge that is 20 minutes from Madison which I am sure has plenty of food suppliers. 2. The longest rental ski you can get is 165 which, if you are normal skier should be around 180. 3. The surface while groomed can get very icey and hard to cut. 4. It can be expensive for a day of sking.

Went a few weeks ago. A fun, meandering hill. You can zig and zag down several different runs and not feel like you're doing the same thing over and over. It was well groomed even in a snow-free December this year. They could really use a high-speed lift over by the black diamond runs, though... also, they need to expand their bar... it's a little cramped and gets crowded quickly. Good deals can be had through liftopia or groupon.

If you buy a multi- day lift ticket, get your ticket at the ticket office the first day. The following days start at the top of the hill, the parking lot is way less crowed. To find the top, turn right at the Cascade sign that says " main entrance left". Follow it to the top following signs that say Daisy Lounge.much easier than main parking.

Cascade has always been a great ski hill close enough for Chicago area ski buffs. I have been skiing there since the seventies and it has improved in size and amenities a great deal. Keep up the good work.

Skied Friday morning Dec. 5 with my 23-year-old daughter. Our lift tickets cost ~$18 each from Liftopia (normally $49 dollars). In three hours we probably got in 20 runs. All of the good runs were open. We essentially had the place to ourselves. The snow conditions for this early in the season were excellent.

I liked Cascade mountain, but I wish they had more jumps. The terrain park is pretty small and consists mostly of rails. I like the speed of the main lift. It gets you up the mountain very quickly.

Cascade is the best resort in the central Wisconsin area. Lots of runs for all levels of skiing, good snow making ability, and great personnel working there. It can get very crowded, so we always try to arrive early in the morning, or ski mid-week.

I love this place and have skied there about 400 times in 40 years. The snow making and grooming are excellent and they are not at all shy about making snow early and throughout the season.

For the Midwest, Cascade is and has always been a very nice ski area. The runs are groomed well, the people are nice and the area is tranquil. I have been to cascade over 20 times and always enjoyed it.

Great place to go and ride but avoid holiday weekends. It is much nicer to go when it's not so crowded!

Great place to ski and free for children. Plenty of runs from which to choose. Fast trip to the top, but watch out for pileups there, especially of inexperiened snowboarders and people putting on their snowboards. Friendly staff. Very expensive coffee in the restaurants.

I went skiing at both Devils Head and Cascade. Devil’s Head has longer runs and is less crowded. Cascade has much newer and safer lift equipment and operators, friendlier and more attentive staff, cleaner facilities, is better organized (lift lines, ticket windows, etc) and a much, much better value in terms of cost.

My first time at Cascade, we had 25 people from twin 3yr olds to advanced adults. Great time no complaints. Very organized chair lifts, kept the line moving. Staff was very accommodating. The best part was allowing us to bring coolers to feed our crowd. Made it easier to buy drinks at the bar. On line now to book future ski trips, thank again.

Great mountain for beginner-intermediate level. A bit icy since they had no real snow, but a fun place overall. Plus, their express lift is super fast!

Great mountain! If you want a variety of black runs, go to cindy pop- it's a lift right by the "far-out" green runs, has like 5 or 6 black diamonds and closes at 4:30 along with the runs

It was a great resort and the slopes were very nice. No improvements as far as I could tell.
