Mt LaCrosse Reviews & Tips (2)
Mt Lacrosse is my home resort... Sadly. It's a nice place to ski or snowboard in the area, but I would never go out of my way to make it to this one. The lifts are terribly slow and lift 2 has a pretty steep ramp. The runs are okay but some like apple bottom are kinda narrow. The worst thing about this place is the chalet. Tiniest chalet I have ever been in! It only has one tiny room for sitting and an even smaller room for sitting, and tickets. Rentals are even worse. Lines are always long and slow. Lift tickets are over priced. For only 19 runs at a price of $49 for the day, I'd rather spend the extra gas money and drive to the dells and go to Cascade or Devils Head (which are 5x bigger and the same price for lift tickets). I recommend Coffee Mill in wabasha. Its much better than mt lacrosse and way way cheaper!
Mt LaCrosse review written Sep 16 2012 - 08:32 AM
I have been skiing at Mt. La Crosse for all of my life and it is a nice hill. They trails are always well groomed. At the base of hill there is a chalet and a few food options. There is no lodging but there are many hotels about a ten minute drive away. I can't rate the terrain park, but it always seems to be busy during the day. The snow tends to be icy at the end of the day and sloppy at the end of the season. Damnation is a very fun run but Salvation is usually quite icy. Mt. La Crosse is no Beaver Creek, Vail, or Whistler, but is a fun place to ski and is great for the surrounding area.
