Hyland Hills Reviews & Tips (8)

Go early - plan on skiing hard as long as you can until it's too busy.....things will get super busy with school buses and hoards of kids....most are respectful - but the Park tends to have bad language now and then. Drop your party off in the drop off zone, then go back and park the car to catch the shuttle if you can - it will save you a bunch of hassles. It is a beginner hill - pretty much every run is that way.....however, there are many advanced features in the Park - and kids can get many runs in....make sure they have glove protectors. Wish I could get a beer at the new Chalet - but what can you do. Overall - great little city hill - and an awesome spot for your little park rat.

The temporary chalet is great! Simple, clean, large, and has indoor plumbing. Also, the best hot chocolate is still available. :)

Great for what it's set up to be: a small in-town hill thats cheap and caters to snowboarders. large park with jumps and rails and a rope tow so you never have to unstrap your boots. Don't come here expecting Colorado, because thats not what it is.

Great place for families -- we ski here with our 4 kids every other weekend. The kids love it and its a small enough area where you aren't worried about your kids getting lost. Super convenient and close - easy to get to. Staff is really friendly and ski lessons were good. Would absolutely recommend it for families.

Yes, Hyland is small and definitely not very exciting; but it's also convenient, inexpensive, and a great place to learn. I can bring my kids here for a few hours of good outdoor fun and not feel like I've blown the whole day or tons of cash. Both of my girls took lessons here and thoroughly enjoyed them. If you're an experienced skier who's looking for a challenge then Hyland is definitely not for you. But for beginners or families, it's a great place!

Don't go. Maybe gets a 1 out of 10 for the simple reason that they have cheese curds. Other than that, what an all-around awful experience.

Great park with a quick rope tow for getting a lot of laps in. It's a small hill but then again, it's the closest to the metro. The skischool is second to none and if you're looking for a great idea for a date, learn to snowboard in one of the small groups!
