the conditions were great and they had all the runs open. Parking for lift tickets/rentals are at one end of the complex & skiiers lodge is at other end, which can result in alot of schlepping gear around, if you don't plan for it.

Liftopia Rocks! Easy to use and you save $$$$!
Shanty Creek has a lot of variety for 'Michigan'.
Sundays the resort 'clears out'. Not a lot of folks stay to ski the whole weekend. Get up early and never wait in line - ever!

Slopes well groomed, employees well versed in customer appreciation and a super selection of runs so the lift lines are quick. Midweek skiing is suggested to beat busy weekends.

Arrive early as others said to avoid crowds. But it is better to go mid week you will have the whole place to yourselves. The staff was great......get a day pass and if you choose to stay for night sking they will let you upgrade for $5 as if you purchased here..

Mid Week at Shanty Creek was fantastic. One virtually has the place to oneself. Staff was very nice. Ivan's offered a great warming spot and watering hole. downtown Bellair is cute too. Must go to Shorts for craft beer.

Try getting to the face early if you don't want to have a massive line at the main yellow lift; otherwise the blue, purple, and back red lifts should be the place to go because they always have little or no waits.

I've used Liftopia several times to various resorts around Northern Michigan. Love the pricing! Shanty Creek is a nice resort. Some great runs and short lift lines. Glades were not open yet this past weekend but experienced them last year and loved it!

Michigan has been dry so far. I figured the skiing on all man made snow would be marginal at best but the conditions at Schuss were very good considering the lack of God made snow. Note: we went to Shanty Creek to start our day and were told that they are not open yet. We had to jump back in the car and drive over to Schuss. Since we passed it on the way up it would have been nice to know to go to Schuss Mountain to begin with.

We just got back from 2 great days at Schuss! We have been coming here for 30 years and always feel welcomed, especially by Roger and his staff at the Pro Shop. They treat us so well and make sure we have whatever we need! The runs were great and Liftopia made the lift ticket process this year slick to do and friendly on the wallet.
Will use Liftopia again next year!!!

Great skiing at Schuss. Super friendly staff. Awesome condo rental, slept 6 easily with kitchen and was slope side! Very cool. We'll be back.

For late (3/18-21) Season the conditions were excellent we had a great time. A friend rented equipt. and it was as good as the first day of rental. We stayed at the ALL SEASONS Motel in Bellaire it was very nice no frills but neat and CLEAN really nice people. WE WILL BE BACK AGAIN

Liftopia was an excellent steal for Shanty. Despite being late in the season, shanty had all of its runs open. There was no wait to get on any of the ski lifts and the staff was extremely friendly. If you're gonna be there for the weekend, you should check out renting some of the condos nearby.

For the price it was a fine outing. Relative to other nearby Michigan ski hills, it was as good as the other destinations. Snow conditions were fine as well. However, lines and for that matter, other skiers, were non-existent! In Shanty Creek's defense, it was late in the season

We took our 4 and 6 year olds skiing for the first time there and it was perfect. the staff was great and it wasn't too crowded. Just perfect for us.
If you sign up for lessons, make sure you get there 45 minutes prior to the start of your lesson to get registered and get your rental equipment. It is best to enroll online.
Also, call Shanty Creek for lodging rentals. It is a lot easier than trying to find them on your own and you'll be happy you did.

Just had a great 2 days at Schuss. On Friday, lines were so short, we hardly ever had to wait for a lift. Saturday was busier, but still nothing compared to other ski areas nearby. Loved how all lifts converge in the same area at the top - made it easy for our family to ski different hills based on varying skill levels and find each other again. Staff was very friendly! Liftopia saved us lots of money - will use it again!

A group of 12 of us went skiing at Schuss and had a great time! Liftopia saved us a ton of money. We went over "College Weekend" but there weren't a whole lot of college-themed events or anything. A lot of families were in Ivan's, so we has lunch at Cedar River, which was a little less like Chuck E Cheese. The hills were in really nice condition and we are looking to make it an annual event!

Shanty Creek has some great blue runs that our family of 3 really enjoys
for our level of skiing. They offer a few terrain parks for those
interested.
The ease of using liftopia was awesome. We saved a lot ot time and money

Great ski area and very friendly staff.
Food very expensive. If you want to bring your own food there is no microwave to warm it up.

Loved Schuss! Powder was awesome this weekend. Took my printed off liftopia receipt to lift ticket counter and they recognized it right away. A great way to save money on a college budget and easy to use. Not too crowded, but if you can make it back to the red chair because that is where the most powder was.

We had a wonderful time! It was very cold but sunny and the slopes were well groomed and in great condition. There were few skiers on the weekday we were there. We would definitely use Liftopia again -- it was a good deal.

Daughter flew up from Florida for a day of skiing. Conditions were great, lines non-existent. Be sure to check closing times. We got there at noon thinking we had till 9pm to ski only to find out they were closing at 4pm. We had pre-purchased tickets so we had to go besides she couldn't fly back up another day. Was awesome 4 hours of skiing non the less. We will be back later this year.

I don't have any suggestions for improvement but wanted to tell you how much I enjoy using Liftopia. I ski once or twice a year as do members of my family so we are not huge customers but I have been telling all my skiing friends about your great prices.

Every run was well groomed and delightful. I liked the way all the lifts converged at the top making it easy to find others in our party. The color coded lift system was also very helpful. Lift seats were padded nicely and comfortable to ride. Great experience.

Watch the blue lift. Several people, my girlfriend included, were hurt as it dips leaving the loading area, ski tips dug in, ripped off her ski after twisting her ankle. callous lift operator argued with me about her unloading, wanted her to ride to top, get off on ONE SKI WHILE HURT, and ski down. Said to give thumbs down sign and they would slow the lift-thanks a lot. She could not put enough pressure on her ankle to put the ski back on!
slopes were in good shape. hot tub was always cold, and I do mean unusable cold, staff seemed unaware or just did not care about it. Rented a nice codo, vista del verde II-but beware-furnaces cannot keep up on colder nights, were undersized.

Summit mountain is great for families with kids, there are hardly any lift lines
and you usually have the runs to yourself. Best price lift ticket in the state at
Summit. Schuss has great runs, definitely hit all the red lift runs. The pink lift
also has great runs near it. Yellow lift has longer lift lines than the others on the front side, but not real bad. Staff has always been friendly, food is good, Ivans is a great place for a warm up and a beer. Shanty Creek is just a great laid back place for a ski trip. Crystal mountain is nice and so is Boyne, but Shanty Creek is the place to be

My first time at Schuss and it was a great experience. It happened to be one of the coldest weekends of the year, but the skiing was good. The runs on the back by the red lift are a lot of fun, but keep in mind that they are not lit and close around 5. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Had 8 inches of powder on Saturday and groomed on Sunday. Best of both worlds and the slopes were wonderful under both condotions. I love Schuss because it is not as crowded as the other 3 slopes in the area, but yet offers the same level of skiing. Make sure to hit the back runs early as the red chair lift closes at 4:30 ish.

GREAT skiing. All the runs were nicely groomed, red chair lift and back runs a must. The front (yellow lift) is great for sharpening your abilities.

The back funs are fantastic. Definitely make sure you make your way to the red chair lift before it closes at 4:15. So much fun!
