Mountain High is Southern California's most popular winter resort. Just 75 minutes from Los Angeles and Orange Counties, the area welcomes its guests with three distinctly different mountains and a wide variety of lifts and trails. Each base area is complete with ticket windows, restaurants, rentals, sport shops, ski & snowboard lessons and more. Though you can't see it from... the base area, the East Resort stretches 1.6 miles up into the mountains offering some of the best cruising trails and powder runs in the region. At the West Resort you'll find an equally impressive mountain loaded with both technical terrain and wide-open beginner areas. And last year the area was proud to announce the addition of Mountain High North. You will find it seated directly across from Mountain High's West Resort and open peak-season for lessons, tubing and more.

GET THERE EARLY, HAD A TWO HOUR WAIT TO GET MY GEAR, I WAS TIRED BEFORE I GOT ON THE MOUNTAIN. IT HADN'T SNOWED WASN'T A HOLIDAY, BUT THERE WERE ALOT OF PEOPLE. HAD FUN ONCE I GOT ON THE RUNS.JUST SNOWED, WISH I COULD GO UP THIS WEEKEND! FRIENDLY STAFF, CLOSE ENOUGH.

Way too crowded on weekends. The parking and lift ticket lines are long. The crowd is mostly arrogant young twenty something guys who try too hard to look cool and girls who care more about if their boarding outfits match. The runs are OK, a little too short for me. Weekdays are the best time to go. Mountain High is great if you are a beginner and it's a short easy drive from the LA area. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I lost my lift ticket and digital cameraI and I was able to retrieve both items from the lost and found. I would suggest bringing a cooler for drinks and food. The food there is horrible and way too expensive.

Mountain High should be named Mountain Why? There are no advanced runs.

I went up to Mtn high with two friends and we all used Liftopia for our tickets. We were able to use the VIP ticket window as well. Getting the tickets was simple and quick both on the website and at the resort. I will definitely be using liftopia for my next trip.

Went Saturday 11/26/2011. $44 deal.
great deal for a saturday. snow was acceptable. some ice & then slush in the afternoon so always check weather/snow report the day or 2 before. But it was good to start off the season. try to get there before noon or else it gets really crowded.

Spring snow, small crowd, no bare spots, 1 hour 15 minute drive from San Fernando and $29 LIFT TICKET!!! What's not to like. Too bad East wasn't open Tuesday, 3/29. My pick for So Cal skiing. Thanks Liftopia!

Busy day on Monday (3/28). Looks like spring break is in full swing. Arrived at 10 am, ticket window lines were 3 or 4 deep, vip window was 10 deep. But an employee announced that any window was ok for lifttopia, so only had to wait 10 min. Snow coverage was excellent and the sun was out, making for a good day overall. As an aside, putting the ticket on the left side of body was key, so thanks to all for that tip.

Mountain High is great local skiing for SoCal. The lift tickets need to have printed on them: "Lift Ticket MUST be attached to the LEFT side of your clothing."
Lift lines wait times can be shortened a lot if...
1. The sensitivity is increased on the card readers and everyone wears their lift tickets on their left side.
2. The resort installs signage and the lift operators enforce the rule:
"PLEASE DO NOT STAND STILL OR SIT IN FRONT OF LIFT GATES"
Groups of boarders (skiers don't generally sit) plopping down in front of the lift gates en masse is like idling on a freeway on-ramp in a car; a recipe for disaster at worst, and frustration at best. C'mon folks, keep the lanes clear.

it's good. I have been mt. high third times and the snow condition was the best one in Mt. high. However, the stuffs in food court always said the food gift card could not be used in food court.

Went on Friday after recent snow storm. Get there early and move around the mountain as these spring days heat up.
written Mar 14 2011 - 10:46 PM
Weekdays much less crowded than weekends. Much better for beginners like me. Like the easy drive to get there. Smiling, friendly staff.

Just enjoyed Mt High this past Friday. Good snow conditions. Always go on weekdays, lot less crowded. Hopefully this March & April will be similar to last year with really good snow conditions. We've told many people about your website this winter. We love your discounts!

I swore off southern Cali riding for over a year, but then decided to suck it up and shred the gnar south of Mammoth. I gotta admit, I had a blast. So much more low-key than Big Bear.
written Mar 06 2011 - 12:07 AM
I will probably make it here next year as the local choice, skied both sides the other day, spring snow recovering from an ice storm the night before, so the snow had to crack a bit.
Fun place over all, good variety, nice cruiser runs, nice shoots, nice bowls, if only all those snowboarders lapping the park knew how much cooler tricks look on skis.
Now if Liftopia could only get these kinds of discounts for gas.

We had a fantastic time on the east side.
West side was far too crowded.
West side lift lines were really long.
So we went over the east side where there were no lines at all.
Found the east side to have more skiers than snow boarders.
I and my group are skiers and loved being able to use the shuttle to go back and forth.
The purchase of my ticket was easy.
Easy to follow web-site.
I had no problems getting my lift ticket with the printed out email.
Painless process. Will buy again using your site.
Pleasure doing business with you.
Will tell people about you.

2/1 Tuesday was great...not crowded as you expect...remember to put your ski pass on the left side of your body, as to scan when going through scanners...ours were on the right and it was a pain all day! We had a blast!!! great runs, nice people, lots of snow from weekend....loved it!!!!
written Mar 03 2011 - 02:36 PM
The ticket window should be telling everyone to be sure to put your lift ticket on the LEFT side of your jacket because all the lifts have scanners, and they're ALL on the left! So inconvenient every time I had to go through their turnstyles!!!!! Also, BOARDERS..... PLEASE slow down and leave a safe distance between you and the skier below!!!!!

always check weather conditions before planning to go.it is nice though in a sense that there are barely anyone snowboarding on a day like this. but we did have to wear everything to cover the face and stop at the coffe counter for refill. To drive we usually take 118, then 14 and then just Pear Ave all the way (not a place for sightseeing since in you are in Plamdale).Save a lot of time when compare to 210
written Feb 28 2011 - 10:35 AM
go mid week if you have kids, kind of icy and crowded with 20 something snowboarders
written Feb 26 2011 - 02:36 PM
Definitely geared towards park rats, and I am not a park rat, I'm a big mountain BC skier. In fact, I spent most of my time on the chairlift looking wistfully at Baden Powell. However, the terrain park is very good, the jumps are really well built and good fun even for someone as park averse as myself. Lots of beginner terrain, nice cordoroy, if you want to cruise groomers or you're just learning this is the place to go. If you want advanced white knuckle terrain, go to Baldy.

I've never experienced such a high concentration of snowboarders; it was at least 5-to-1. I greatly prefer the East mountain, but since it was closed, we had no choice but to ski the West mountain, which I hadn't been to in probably 15 years. I was with my two teenage daughters, who are beginner skiers, so I was nervous with all the rambunctious snowboarders around. But we found the trails less used by the boarders and we had a great time. The Liftopia discount was great, and the MH staff was very friendly.

Skiers - take a deep breath and understand that this is an 80% snowboarder place. If you are an advanced skier looking for a quick trip without the Big Bear traffic hassle then this place is a solid alternative. Just look uphill as you go because some kid with a new board and no clue is coming down out of control. But once you accept that it all becomes part of the fun. Some things to be aware of - there are no bumps. Anywhere. The boarders flatten anything skiers carve. So the diamond slopes are mogul free. Even the ones that aren't "machine groomed" are flat. The west-most runs at the west resort are ice slabs, so whatever snow is on top comes off quickly (also adds to the fun). Just don't think you are looking at powder on corduroy. Vertigo is fun but a bit boring without bumps. If you spend a few hours on it you can make some bumps there - boarders avoid it. The western most lifts don't serve much in the way of boarder goodies so there aren't too many boarders around. On weekdays you have those lifts to yourself.

2/10/11: Beginners slope (snowflake lift) closed early at 5pm without warning. Snowmakers were turned on soon after causing very icy conditions resulting in poor ski control. This day was not very beginner friendly.

I love mountain high! I always go here. The people are friendly and the snow trails are great for any type of rider. I also love the price that liftopia offers, great job guys!! Parking gets wild at night, i reccomend going early in the mourning when they open, sometime during the middle of the week. Food is a bit pricy, i think bringing your own food is a must. But Overall great place to ride!

Snow blowers were loud and annoying. What was worse was skiing thru them - didn't realize why people were all covered up with masks until the first run down and my face was frozen numb. However, the price was great, good warm up slopes for the out of shape skier like me.
written Feb 07 2011 - 10:03 PM
Snow machines very annoying. Snow was slow wet and sticky in alot of spots.
written Feb 06 2011 - 01:54 AM
Thursday Feb 3, snow machines were on all day making ice (not snow). It felt like shards of glass flying in my face even with ski mask and goggles. $29 lift ticket is a good deal, but the snow was sticky and soft with a very icey base. Snow summit is way better... wish they had deals for snow summit on this website.
written Feb 05 2011 - 05:44 PM
Snow makers are deafening, manufactured snow is sticky and slow. Lines are not managed well. I will only go again when other local resorts don't have any snow. This was the case on Thursday.
written Feb 05 2011 - 02:16 PM
Too many inexperienced snow boarders, Should never stop or rest on down blind slope and right in the middle of that too (dummmm). I try avoid collision, pop my knee, I could have ran right into her, if I wanted....
written Feb 04 2011 - 06:35 PM
Stay away on 2/1 Tuesdays: very busy. Lift attendants make no attempt to "quad up" skiers/boarders. The lift lines are chaotic.
written Feb 03 2011 - 08:07 PM
It was an overall good experience.
Traffic from OC was ok (we left @6.30am). We got our tickets pretty quick and there was plenty of parking. The lines started getting pack around 1 and by 2, we left b/c it wasnt worth the wait. Ticket for $29, was a good deal.
written Jan 30 2011 - 02:23 AM
Discount ticket was freat the mountain was in good shape, MH just needs to do better line managementthey were to busy looker for line jumpers and not getting people thru the line quickly and with out people cutting in front of them. overall had a good day.
written Jan 26 2011 - 02:53 PM
The kids had a blast and we felt that we got a great deal!
Thanks Liftopia. We will now log on to you before anyone else!

If you're there for day riding get to the bar before 3pm because it closes. I know they do this so people don't get tanked before they drive, but what about the people that ride along? Or bring your own to save money. $9.25 a 24oz. or $7.50 a shot.

Purchase online with Liftopia and save $ and time most important.....I was all over that mountains powder!!
written Jan 20 2011 - 03:05 PM
Dont go on a weekend. get your tix from liftopia. try to avoid the snowboarding ding-dongs.
written Jan 15 2011 - 04:07 PM
Liftopia passes are only available at Mtn. High West, so get there early if you want parking. We had to park at East, which was fine. It would have been better if their top chair lift wouldn't have thrown a bearing. We only had access to the lower half of the East side. Anyone ever been to the Norh side?
written Jan 14 2011 - 10:43 AM
Avoid the weekends if you can, their weekday boarding is the best!

There are signs allong the roadside. Maybe you didn't see them? I have gone there for years, and have never had a problem. They have decent parking in thier lots, but if you have to park on the road you need an adventure pass. You can get them at Big 5, or through the forest service. You need an adventure pass to park allong ANY national Parks Road sides. Better preperation on your part would have helped. This isnt the City where there are meters, and you can generaly park where you want to for as long as you want to. It sucks to get towed any time, but don't let a bad situation prevent you from going to a great place. if it keeps you, and your 11 away so be it then...11 less people to have to deal with on the hill. Words of advice. . .ALWAYS get information to anywhere you go BEFORE you go so you can get the most out of your time without the BS.
written Feb 03 2010 - 11:49 AM
Mt. High does not control the roads and has nothing to do with your car getting towed. Having an Adventure pass allows you to park on the highway without getting a ticket. Regardless if you have a ticket or not, if you park where it says "No Parking Allowed" you will get towed. I have been going there for many years and the signs are clearly posted all up and down the highway.
written Nov 04 2009 - 01:29 PM
There was no sign, no announcement, no one told "people who didnt purchase an adventure ticket who will get trafic ticket or towed" on the street. We were first time visiter, and all parking area were packed. There was no sign, no ticket, where to call... employees worked at there didn't even know the information, no help at all.People who purchased ticket are able to park there on streets means there's no need to towed our car to 80 miles away from ski resport, and charge $550 for tow and $180 for broken taxi which got all the lights as an engine, brake,ABS lights. can you imagine you lost vehicle at middle of mountain, cold, and dark. all the poeple who got towed are first visiters. NO SIGN, NO ANNOUNCEMENT for this BS,They will lose business. at least they did for 11 people.
