Cataloochee Reviews & Tips (2)

Went onb a Wednesday,, A nice crowd but not overcrowded. For a small venue Cataloochee is well run, well maintained and professionally staffed. I would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a nice relaxing day skiing or boarding. I wish they would offer a seniors day during the week.

My brother and I went on a Monday, a non-holiday, which was great! We got on the lifts with no wait. I attended ski school with 1 other person which allotted for more one on one attention. My instructor, Nick, did a great job at teaching me the basics of snowboarding. This was my first time on a board, but by the end of the day I could make a run without falling, a testament to ski school and my instructor, Nick . I saw several people falling every five feet; after speaking with them I found out they didn't attend ski school. I recommend going on a weekday, less people equals more runs. I also recommend taking an hour out of the day to go to ski school. You'll enjoy your experience much much more.
