Four Lakes Village Reviews & Tips (6)
Needs to get a better lift system than the rope lift in place, great for beginner skiiers/intermediate snowboarders but had to cut the day short cause going up was not worth the effort!
Four Lakes Village review written Jan 28 2013 - 02:19 PM
they need to change the ropes on the tow lift on the big hill get a drage lift or some handles on the ropes
Four Lakes Village review written Jan 05 2013 - 03:12 PM
wear old gloves because the ropes will ruin them

I was very disappointed with my first snowboarding experience at 4 Lakes. First off they didn't have my size boot or snowboard so I got stuck with boots and a board that were too big for me. Then my bindings broke twice. I spent more time getting the equipment than actually being on the slope. When I complained asking for a refund the second time my bindings broke the person at the register gave me a hard time and said they couldn't refund my money since I bought my ticket through Liftopia. I asked if I could have a gift certificate or something else then and he finally agreed that he would give me a gift certificate for a free slope ticket.

To be honest this place has very little going for it. If it wasn't for the proximity to Chicago and Naperville it would have gone out of business a long time ago. The downhill ride is only approx. 100 yard long. You don't have to be an expert to get to the bottom in 15 seconds. The worst feature is the lack of lifts. You have to take the cable tow to the top of the hill, and midway the slope gets too steep to hang on. My brother and my friend had their gloves ripped apart. After 5-6 trips to the top we were ready to throw in the towel. I strongly suggest the management of this "resort" to install a magic carpet or plastic handles on the cable tow.

Drink lots of beer if your an avid skier, then it may be fun. A blast in the backyard to warm the skis but too small if you skied all over the world in mountains. Great if you never skied, like a bunny hill. Too many little kids many weekends. ITCTechs rule the hill.
