Granite Peak Reviews & Tips (4)
Definently the best place in the mid west/Wisconsin to go skiing.
Granite Peak is huge! 74 runs that offer a latitude of different terrain and provide fun for any ability. You walk into the place and it feels like a traditional ski resort town which I like. I bought a $17 lift ticket for Saturday afternoon 4pm-9pm, such a good deal cause you have a ton to ski on.
There's tree skiing, chutes/rocky cliffs, and plenty of challenging runs.
Go left towards the Cupid high-speed double chair and spend a few hours on all the advanced terrain/runs out there, so so so much fun.
Will be back!

This is a VERY interesting hill.... A fantastic hill for beginners and young people as it has a lot of variety for new skiers- beautiful wide trails w/trals
That take you into the woods, easy terrain obstacles & easy bumps for those wanting to try moguls.
Experienced skiers will NOT be disappointed by the narrow chutes and trails amongst the tall timbers, with fast lifts on one end where the runs are longer and short lifts on the other end with the steep runs that flatten out. Ski hard, hop on a lift and you're back to skiing, it's called "yo-yo" skiing for a reason. Totally worth the $ and my husband, a hard core back country skier spent two days with a smile on his face the entire time. A boys weekend is planned to return before the snow melts.
As for me, I'm an intermediate skier, so I had to amuse myself on the easy runs, thankfully there were the bumps and crud in a ditch for me to work on my skills or I would have been bored. There was 1 run that was 1 intermediate run that I liked, but it was narrowed and FULL of skiers- some who breezed through w/out an issue and those who thought they were ready to try an intermediate run, a BAD combination! I stayed off the other intermediate runs as they were STEEP and too narrow for my liking.
The busiest ski patrol I've ever seen! Now your ability before you try skiing here unless you're happy with the green runs!
