Epic day on 2/10/16. 2 ft untouched of the perfect consistency and literally 5 people skiing. My best midwest day ever.

Been coming here every Feb from Chicago, since I was barely old enough to drive. I've been to quite a few ski hills, and this is probably the best skiing the midwest has to offer. Wide range of terrain, never crowded, friendly staff, decent prices, and a rustic northwoods feel. Its worth the drive.

Hadn't been here in years until 2 days ago. Love the southern face (when there's snow on it). Super steep and challenging. Naturally everyone has to make a stop at "Ye old wine hut". I'll be going back again for sure!

Love Whitecap. Lots of terrain, never crowded, friendly staff. It's old and hasn't been updated, and food is bad, but that doesn't stop it from being heavenly.

Had a great time skiing even though temp was below 0. Kudos to everyone who was working to keep the lifts running and allowing us to enjoy the slopes. Friendly and helpful staff. Hope to get on the slopes one more time before season closes. Plenty of runs to accommodate all levels of skiers.

Whitecap is one of the best places I have snowboarded in the midwest. The variety of runs give you options with a wide range of difficulty. The runs are long enough to be able to choose a few different paths. This is a rare find in midwest slopes. Liftopia tickets gave us absolutely no problem at the ticket line. You can get an incredible deal especially on weekdays.

Whitecap is a hidden gem that not many people really know about or think to go to .... great variety of runs with varying degrees of difficulty. The double black runs are much more challenging than any of the hills I've ridden in the MI / MN / WI areas in part because they are steep and narrow. Also as other reviewers have stated they leave many runs untouched which allows for natural moguls and bumps to form. The chairlifts are old and the seats can be quite slippery and uncomfortable (especially the one with antiquated wooden slats) .... but doesn't bother me. The chalet is old and there are very little food options so be prepared to eat hot dogs or pack a lunch. Great views, virtually no crowds and waiting. Great place for a fun, family friendly trip to a small town where you're OK staying in and not needing to be entertained.

Great skiing. Excellent mix of groomed, bumps, & powder. Good place to go on a windy day as the runs are cut through the trees and you can always find some runs out of the wind. Great lift ticket/lodging deals. Closest thing to "out west" you are going to find in the Hurley/Bessemer area.

You will not be disappointed ! Whitecap has something for everyone - skiers and snowboarders. Though I purchased individual lift tickets on line at liftopia and got a great deal, while at the resort, I learned that Whitecap offers a "family" lift ticket - an even better deal. Very friendly staff ! Great mix of groomed and ungroomed (powder) areas.
