Brought my friend up to teach her how to ride. Camelback is a great place to learn! We had a nice time taking Meadows lift (L7) and riding down Laurel Glade for most of the day. There is a nice flat-ish area in front of the lift where you can practice the basics.
My daughter spent her day in ski school and progressed very quickly from the Sun Kid Carpet to the brand new Coolmoor Carpet. She enjoyed the lunch they provided and the instructors were great!
I tried out skiing for the second time ever, and found the Meadows to have more snow than the high traffic Laurel Glade.
The mountain gets a good amount of sun from open to about 3:00 (we went in Feb). The trails were well covered with man-made snow, though it did get skied off by around 2 to reveal sketchy ice patches. Cafeteria had lots of hot options which change often, and there is a bar in the cafeteria, as well as a pub with their own food offerings.
Bottom line: Camelback is a great mountain close to Philly with lots of space and instruction for beginners and a few hard trails, too. I go there as often as I can and I will continue to recommend it to friends.

I think Camelback is one of the better mountains in the Poconos, and worth the 2.5 hour drive from the Philly area.

i had such a great time on 1/19/2012.I fell alot but laughed just as much and everyone around me asked if I was ok,i was laughing too much and will be going back now that it is snowing 1/21/2012.They have everything you need and the staff is friendly and the price is right. For a beginner like me I learned alot the first day and can't wait to go back. They offer lessons and when I saw the little people going past me so fast,I said to myself i can do IT !!!

It didn't effect me because I have small kids, but Camelback is now requiring a separate lift ticket for the terrain parks. No reflection on Liftopia, but I was clueless until I went to get on the lift with the kids and couldn't.

7 day vacation in Pa. Great deals on Liftopia. Enjoyed Camelback very much - great job making snow! Mother Nature didn't cooperate but the snowmakers at Camelback did! Enjoyed having a drink in the Cameltop chalet with the beautiful view! Also enjoyed the Thirsty Camel bar and the band. Oh Yeh, did I mention the skiing was fantastic as well! Can't wait to come back, Eh?

Long line because of newbies on mtn. Do your research 1st & do the rest of us a favor. Take a lesson, felt like driving in NYC. But liftopia is an awesome App so far.

I presented my voucher and was given my lift ticket without any problem at all. We went mid-week and waited in lines that were only 4-5 lift chairs deep, at the most. Conditions were very good, no complaints. Tip - go mid week, if you can.

Liftopia def. had the best rates and the weekdays were great. DO NOT rent skiis or equiptment directly from camelback. The LOFT which was down the raod about 2 miles were half the price and worth it!!!!
