Shawnee Mountain is a family friendly ski area located just a short drive from New York City and Philadelphia. We have 23 trails, 2 terrain parks and a snowtubing park. 100% snow making and 95% night skiing. Nice little mountain with a variety of trails merging with other trails connecting with other trails. I went there late in the season so I pretty much had the mountain to myself .I can't judge how crowded it must get on peak season weekends. Shawnee has a great small resort vibe to it. It feels like home away from home.

Rent all equipment out of the Resort, it will save you about 40% compared to Shawnee prices. Despite that, always buy through Liftopia, you can also save some bucks and enjoy, it is a good resort, easy slopes and friendly people.

My family has been skiing at Shawnee for 15 years. It is a great little mountain. They have one high-speed quad, and that is pretty much the only lift I use. Even on crowded days, the line on the quad moves quickly. Staff is friendly. This year we bought season passes. My teenage children like the terrian park. It is close and affordable. They do a good job of grooming. Of course there is going to be ice, it is the Poconos!!!

Shawnee has the worst ski conditions I've ever experienced. Did one run and turned around to drive home. Couldn't ski in these conditions. Crowded with out of Control beginners too. Will NEVER go to Shawnee again. Wasn't worth the deal and wish I could get my money back. Totally disappointed in how I had to end the season. May have to go to a trusted mountain Sunday and pay full price. It'll be worth it.

Make your site easier to use.Tried to use the comments, but it would not work.
Shawnee was not good, Wedsite said all ail trails, but when we got there about half the trails where not open. There where a couple times we got off the lift and had to pole over to another trail to go down. Then on the way down, there would be trails closed. Twice we were going down and the trail was closed and where forced to go down a black diamond. That is not right.I
I dod not have a problem, but skiing with my wife which does not like skiing diamonds pissed her off.

Went to Shawnee for the first time this past Saturday. We got to the ticket window at 8:05 and were on the lift like 2 minutes later. Show up early for no lines at the ticket window or lift and get a TON of skiing done in the first 2 hours. Also the mountain is really perfect for beginner and intermediate skiers. The whole mountain is definitely skiable. We had an AWESOME day.

Went to Shawnee for my first time March 6th 2012. I could not believe I kept driving 4 - 5 hours to ski Hunter , Bellayreor Catamount?
The place is nice. Has everything you need to party or bring the family. The only snow up there was on the slope's. That was fine with me. I got there early and was the 2nd one down on fresh groomed trails. There was about one or two inches of soft stuff, packed ??? and the base was solid ice. This may sound bad to some pro's but I had a blast on my new ski equipment. The lift was fast and no crowds.
If it get's cold eneough to make snow, I would suggest you to take your Ski's or Board and go. $42.00 all day!!!!!!!! FUN FUN Fun(get there by 9am)

Considering how much snow was missing all year long from all of the resorts this winter Shawnee was an excellant choice. As a 44 year old Dad snowboarder and just learning how be brave enough to hit some jibs, the resort had something for everyone. Both my 12 and 9 year old had a blast. Got Crowded a little in the early afternoon however we went during the Shawnee Winter Festival and had a blast. It will be our first stop next season.

If you're there on a Friday it gets very crowded after 4:00 p.m. since all the kids get out of school and over 15 buses from different districts come to Shawnee to ski. Also, the left side of the mountain tends to have better snow since the hi-speed lift and most people are on that side.

This is a nice family mountain. No challenging runs for more advanced skiers, but an enjoyable place to ski and ride. The terrain park is better than I thought it would be. They could use a high-speed lift that goes up the big terrain park. The double over there feels like it takes forever. I went midweek and the place was empty.

love this mountain snow is great good quick chairlifts to get you to the top so you can start skiing always try to get to this mountain cause it is the closest one hills arent that steep either

I really liked the Liptopia packaged deal since I am a beginner. Though there was a huge wait before I could actually ski. My advice is to get there as early as possible to be one of the first ones through the line.

wow worst time ever there was no snow small runs and i was there less then an hour and left. i will never go back. why keep a mountain open when there is no snow at all? sluch and mud. waste of money and time.

liftopedia worked very smoothly. however, there were ridiculous conditions at shawnee - a total waste, at least on Feb 18. We left after 1 hour.

Shawnee is a little far for us given limited vert, but conditions were great last weekend. Much less ice than Blue or Camelback, but that might have been partly due to the warmer weather. Terrain park is very well done; nice and long, lots of well-placed features. One problem is the number of oblivious kids crossing landing areas--nobody seems to want to tell them that is a dangerous way to ride a terrain park, but I landed on "only" one kid, so I guess it's okay. And the T.P. lift is slow and really needs to be upgraded given the popularity. Pick your day carefully if you're a beginner. I was there on Sunday and the greens were filled with group lessons and other more advanced kids slashing through them. Far more kids were taken down the hill on ski patrol sleds than I've seen in a while. All in all, best local ski trip of the season--It's just a fun place to ride.

Was there Sunday Feb 6. Awesome terrain park, which is a great plus. The jumps are great. The beginner trails were pretty crowded though. Too many beginner trails merge with advance trails, so it can be hectic. It's a pretty easy mountain overall. I dont like how they didnt want me to bring my cooler, that was lame.

Not a bad mountain to teach or learn on, nice wide trails with no crowds. My only complaint is that, although they have free wifi, they have no payphones and no cell signal. Makes it very hard on people that rely on their phones for work, family, etc.

fun beginner mountain, thank god for the express. went with a group of beginner\intermediate riders who are new or just getting back into it after a few years off. was good because everyone was able to stay relatively close and since it is such a small mountain it was easy to stay together. park was okay, a few of the knuckles are way too long on the hits in sidewinder. i only saw one person clear the knuckle on the fourth hit and he wiped instantly on landing. besides the normal families hanging out in the terrain park (very normal in pa) and not able to hit a few features because a 7 year old was standing on top of it, i had fun.

Shaw nee was fun. Not crowded and fun trails, but it was just way small. The run was just as fast as the lift up

Went on Thursday from noon to 5pm after a 6 inch snowfall. Conditions were genuinely perfect with packed powerer and fresh powder along the edges. Staff is friendly, lodge clean, French fries are tasty. I learned to ski here as a little kid and hadnt been back in 22 years! Brought back some memories. The mountain sure felt "bigger" back then, lol, but now I know why the school's ski club brought us here, it really is fantastic learning terrain as nothing is very difficult.

Liftopia was really easy to use. The weather was great and went on a Wednesday, so there was no one there! The high-speed lift was WAY better than the other lift. We had a blast. No ice, no slush, who could ask for more in the Poconos?

Shawnee is geared more towards beginners. I went on a weekend (a holiday nonetheless) and the green trails were very clogged with beginners. The blue trails were very easy (they could be considered green trails at some other mountains), therefore there were a lot of beginners on those trails too. It is annoying because they all stop in the middle and you have to try to dodge people as you are skiing/snowboarding past them. Some of the blacks were as hard as a blue would be on other mountains. The express quads are good (minus the lines you have to wait on). The food at the top of the mountain was better then the lodge at the bottom.

Liftopia works great here. Print out order; bring ID. Fairly good conditions, typical Poconos slopes. It is, what it is. High speed quad is fast.

Liftopia tells you that you don't need to print your confirmation email (but that you should); when i went, they said I had to print my confirmation email. They eventually helped me get the lift ticket and the mountain was great. I really like the lodge at the top of the mountain. Print your confirmation email.

Liftopia was easy to use to purchase tickets. Shawnee willl ask you to produce photo ID, so don't forget to bring it with you.
Shawnee was in excellent condition, although not much of a challage.

Great snow conditions and definitely a family friendly slope. Take the Tomahawk ski lift to save a ton of time on the way up. There's no other slope as fast at this resort!

Don't be afraid to buy through Liftopia and don't be afraid to ski Shawnee. I went to the ticket window with the order I printed out and had my lift ticket in less than 2 minutes.
First time at Shawnee, was looking for the kiosk so I could rent a locker and an employee came up to me and asked if I needed help. She walked me to the rental kiosk and then my locker.
Skiing was great! Not the biggest place but it does have some long trails. Even the lift people were very friendly. This is what a ski resort should be like and what a deal! Very satisfied!

The new High Speed Quad is awesome. 3 Minutes up, 3 down make a huge difference. Great place to ski/board for everyone. The entire staff is great and the bartenders rock. For the cost, Shawnee is a great deal. Not the most challenging but a great place to start your season.

Shawnee has a great program for groups of 15 or more. It's called Groups-2-Go... You call, make a reservation, pay for everything over the phone and they mail all your lift tickets, rental forms and lesson vouchers ahead of time. When you arrive you go straight to the mountain. Did it last year and it was awesome!
