Ski Cooper Reviews & Tips (30)
Ski Cooper was great! Had 3" of new snow first day and skiing was perfect. Good runs, no lift lines, good food. Overall, great trip. Would recommend.

No crowds and a great hill for the kids. The lifts are very slow, but my biggest issue is having a lift without a safety bar to pull down. If families are their target customer, how could this be missed?

Returned to Cooper this year based on great experiences in the past, unfortunately this year was not a repeat of previous visits. Although not the fault of the operators the skiing conditions are poor to horrible. They have very little snow, a lot of bare spots and closed off areas. The packed powder is more like ice, crusty and difficult to ski on. Apparently too little snow to even groom as they had groomed this icy mess on only 1 run the day were there. Took 2 beginners with us for there first time skiing and the conditions made if very difficult for them.
Then too add insult to all of this, we were almost the last off the mountain and by 3:50 the mail lift was shut down, the buildings closed and locked. When we left the parking lot at 4:15 all the staff in the buildings were gone! Yes, it was a slow day, but that's no reason to slight the paying customers that were there. Disappointed in Cooper this trip.

Planned on skiing Cooper one day. Liked it and the people so much that we went for a second. Keystone was a steep ice rink with a cost of almost $90 a person. We'll be driving from Summit to ski Cooper on all our future visits. Great skiing, great prices (Liftopia is the way to go), and a great drive to get there. Parked right next to the snow instead of walking with equipment for ever.

We loved Ski Cooper for the variety of runs and lack of people. However, they forced opening many of the runs and my skis took a beating because of it. There were rocks and trees everywhere on Molly Mayfield and Sitzmark, the main runs into the lodge.
We enjoy that the lodge is comfortable and easy to find a seat.

Great place for a family. Two grandsons (8 and 10) went from the bunny hill to black diamonds in three days. Unless you're looking for a real skiing challenge ... and unless you really like the long lines that keep you at the bottom of the hills for extended periods at the bigger-name resorts, then Ski Cooper is for you. You spend 95% of your time skiing, and the other 5% waiting for lifts or taking a break in the lodge.

We had three first-time youth skiers--7, 12 and 14. Ski Cooper was a great place for all of them to learn. I had never been to Ski Cooper but have been to other larger ski resorts in Colorado and would highly, highly recommend Ski Cooper to any and all families. It was affordable and we felt safe letting the kids ski on their own either on the beginners' hill or any of the other runs. The "magic carpet" for the beginning skiers was perfect and the other lifts ran quickly and efficiently. The runs were well groomed even though there hadn't been a lot of snow this season. The people working there--from getting lift tickets, to the equipment to the ski schools--were all excellent. Our family will definitely make the trip again!

If you're looking for glitz and glammor, go some place else. If you're looking for great skiing with friendly, family, heart of skiing appeal, then you'll call this place home. I love this place and all I met there. Will be my destination again.

This is a great place to ski, no lines, great grooming and powder, trails are long and wide but also some trails in the trees. All levels will have a blast there. Family friendly and wonderful views. Had a great time, can't wait to go back.

My husband and I were staying at Breckenridge and made the hour drive to enjoy the mountain twice. the fresh tracks lasted all day! The snow was great and we loved having the mountain to ourselves.

Good snow, great prices. Mountain was fun, the runs were a little short but good. Staff was great, knowledgeable. Will definitely go back.

Great place for the money. I went on a Saturday and it was pretty crowded. My only complaint was that they could use a high speed chairlift. Takes 5 minutes to get down the mountain and 20 minutes to get back up.

Great family boarding/skiing. If you plan to rent equipment do allow extra time as there was a pretty long wait. Other than that, fantastic place for beginner to intermediate level.

First trip to Cooper and we all (two teens and papa) enjoyed it immensely. Short lines, good runs and friendly staff.

Loved the snow - most of it they don't groom and for the better; feels like backcountry
Ski Cooper review written Dec 20 2010 - 02:37 PM
If your a beginner or intermediate then ski cooper is the best place for the money, plus no crowds. If your a good skier then it's way to short on the mountain, took me about 3 minutes to get down the hill and ten on the lift back up. I would recommend it to almost anyone.
