Brighton Reviews & Tips (39)
I bought the late season 2 day ticket Sunday evening for Tuesday and Wednesday. It was $86, and with my $10 off I got from Dogfunk and after taxes, and fees it came out to about $78. Lots of easily accessible back country here and plenty of open runs. park is small but that's not what you come here for.

Brighton is excellent if you want a mountain with good intermediate terrain and a magnificent view off the top. If you want a more challenging mountain, go to Alta or Snowbird.

Be careful about the trails you want to ski as I ended up on more advanced trails than I wanted. The signage wasn't that great

After skiing Snowbird the day prior, I was not impressed at all with Brighton. The snow was not as good and the terrain is average. I could see it being a good family resort with big groomed open runs and short lift lines, it's priced well. Not a place I'd suggest for the more avid skiier. Maybe I just hit the wrong day?

My Husband and I arrived to the slopes realizing we had forgotten the contirmation paper.... they were very nice and said that it was more important that we had our drivers license and all was well!!! The slopes were great...snow..no waiting. Margery Cleary

Great place for practicing tree skiing. plenty of wide spaced trees along most runs. Most of the black diamonds are accessible to advanced intermediates.
the facilities are not the nicest of Utah's resorts (bathrooms a a bit neglected), but there are plenty of good trails.
It can get overrun by adolescent snowboarders though.

Went for the first time here Jan 26. Really liked it a lot. Told my wife who had never skied before. Was pleasantly surprised by the "Magic Carpet". Made her learning experience so much easier than a rope tow. It was more for her but I was the teacher (bad idea I know) but it went well and she wants to go back. Kudos for great experienced terrain as well as beginner experience. Lovin' Brighton.

Went night skiing with my two adult kids. Was windy and snowing but still a lot of fun. Get there right at 4pm to access gladed areas and unlit runs before it is dark.

Out of all the Salt Lake ski resorts we really enjoyed Brighton the most because of its friendly atmosphere, great variety of terrain and a lot of lighted night skiing, we had a really fun week out there. All of the staff who helped us throughout our visit were very knowledgeable and happy to go out of their way to make our visit amazing. Thanks Brighton!

I had a great day at Brighton. There was more snow then expected and I was stoked to park right at the base of the lift. Everyone there was pretty laid back and friendly. I really enjoyed skiing the Milly Lift and then kicking back to have in a few beers in the Milly Chalet. It was fun to chill after ridding and watch the NFL playoffs. I was stoked they had the game on. I will be back and look forward to bringing some friends.

I skied with my 20 yo son the trails were well groomed. Trail signs could be better. Some lifts bring you to beginner trails but you have to navigate a narrow trail with a sheer cliff which is marked as an intermediate trail to access. Agree with previous reviewer not much help on the mountain. Great Morning on a Tuesday for $40 pass but then the snowboarders showed up in the afternoon. Tearing up the slopes with abandon and no respect for others. Passing out beers to the lift operators who accepted them. Waiting in active lift line for other boarders. A very unruly group. Food in the lodge was mediocre and expensive. I would not return to this area.

If your planning on night skiing after a day of riding, it's cheaper to tack it on at the end of the day with the mountain! But Liftopia is awesome and I'm never using anything else ever again! Great service, great deals! We had 70+ people out for our group and we all went through Liftopia. It put a big smile on everyones face- Thank you Liftopia!

We were there on Friday December 21 and could not find a single host anywhere on the mountain during the day to help us find the best runs for us. We like the easier to intermediate runs and avoid the bumps, but could get no guidance. Signage on the mountain is poor compared to other areas we have visited so it is difficult to know if you are on the right run. Conditions were good, but this place is not inviting to first time visitors -- poorest service of any ski resort we visited. No one was guiding at the bottom of lifts so most quads only held two riders, making it much slower even though is was not crowded.

Out of the four Cottonwood Canyon resorts, we enjoyed Brighton the best. It is an older resort but has a great atmosphere, a good variiety of terrain, a lift system that gets you around without traversing. The facilities are basic but good. It helped that we went there after a 16 inch dump! We would pick Brighton over the larger over commercialized Alta/Snowbird anyday. Plus it gets the most snow in Utah, enough said.

I went the first time with my beginner skiing wife and tried to stay on green runs with her but found that certain trails were poorly marked compared to other resorts. We would start on a green run and then come to a fork where there were 3 or 4 different options and no signs. It led to her wanting to quit when we ended up getting over her head. If you're higher skilled, it won't make a difference, but as a beginner, it would be nice to have the trails clearly marked at every intersection.

Mainly a hill for beginners and intermediate skiers. Some interesting terrain for advanced but not much snow left, was icy and lots of bare spots coming through. Staff is indifferent and most didn't look like they wanted to be there. Worst lifties of the six resorts I visited.
Brighton review written Mar 14 2012 - 03:43 PM
Get there early to enjoy the full day! We had one beginner/intermediate, one intermediate, and two Advanced Skiiers. The Greens are fun and the Blues are just enough difficulty to make the Advanced Skiiers happy to hang with the intermediates. This was our first day of three and it was the best skiing of our trip in SLC!!!!! Suggest skiing the full day and night. We didn't know they had night skiing :-(

Beautiful early spring day with lots of sun and good snow. Spent a few runs in the Great Western area with a little fresh snow still out there. Agree some flat spots but the overall value is great. We have been here on powder days and as others have stated it is wonderful. Make Brighton one of your stops while visiting BCC and LCC.

We came back to Brighton for a 2nd time this season (from NJ). Although the volume of snow is not comparable to the 2010-11 season, Brighton has the best in the SLC area. Also, there are enough levels to challenge the advanced skiier/ride,r as well as allow the beginner to feel comfortable. Their school/lessons are great and help you take it to the next level or just build confidence. Ride Brighton!!

Love Brighton--it snowed during our stay, which was awesome! The ski/ride instructors are the best and everyone is so friendly. Even though we were there on a weekend, the lifts never had real long lines. Our boys were fine and felt comfortable riding is all areas of the resort. They especially loved the tree trails and parks. Would definitely recommend to others.

We found Brighton to have the best snow in the Salt Lake City area, although it is starting to get a little icy by mid-day.

The Crest Express and my 8 and 11 year old beginners, sixth time, are a great combination. We went Saturday night for the last night of the season and had fantastic snow! From run to run you could see the skills and the confidence improve. The terrain, the high speed lift, almost no lines, friendly crowd and the rental shop all combined to give us a lot of skiing. Thanks Brighton! A great family memory.

Utah AWESOME yesterday!!!
Steep and deep.
We felt like we were in a Utah Ski Commercial All Day long. Fresh Tracks all day long as the snow just kept falling. We were waist deep in the real stuff Utah Pow Pow!!! Yeoooh!
Make sure and try the steeps to the right off the top of the Snake!!!
Brighton review written Mar 29 2011 - 02:42 PM
Loads of fun for all levels. Incredible powder off the Milly lift runs & if you like the trees there are plenty to board around.
Brighton review written Mar 23 2011 - 04:53 PM
Of the four resorts in LCC and BCC Brighton is probably the best overall for a beginner or intermediate. For an advaced skiier you will find great skiing on powder days in the trees or nearby slack country. This hill is most visted by the bright outfitted park crew, leaving the steeps and pow to the others! However, if you want good steeps Brighton is the worst choice of the 4 nearby resorts.

I use this resort exclusively. It's simplicity makes it the most attractive of the resorts. I cant get enough of the place. It's a problem.

Great resort. Enjoyed the runs. Something for everyone. Family friendly.
Brighton review written Mar 06 2011 - 03:29 PM
brighton is a good park. i only run green and blues, but the tracks are very wide so even when it is packed you dont run over little kids. its a good mix of downhill and semi flat land.

I really liked Brighton. It has nice powder, trees and groomed runs. The only drawback is some spots are flat.

If you want to ride a mountain that you can feel like you are by yourself om the mountain then go mid-week.

Brighton is sick! Super fun terrain and pow turns a day and a half after it snowed. The place was empty compared to my home resorts in Cali. I can't wait to get back.

Brought the whole fam up for two days. Everyone from advanced ti intermediate boarders skiers had an epic time. Plenty of powder and great elevation drops on most runs. Thanks

Thank you for finding & returning my car keys. I had a wonderful time and great skiing. I am from Obey and check your snow conditions daily.

Doesn't get the love that some of the other Utah resorts get from the national pubs, but is really family friendly and easy to get around. Oh yeah, and it's in Utah and in the Big Cottonwood Canyon which means 13 bottomless powder days a year (no place in Colorado has more than 3).
Brighton review written Dec 13 2010 - 10:40 AM
Check out the terrain on the Wren Hallow run. It's not too steep but it's full of little rollers and natural jumps/drops. Definitely fun.
Brighton review written Dec 07 2010 - 08:12 AM
Great resort if you like powder and trees... There are however some dead spots if your not familiar with the resort. What it lacks in elevation it makes up for with trees and powder.
Brighton review written Dec 03 2010 - 11:52 PM
Brighton was sick. The Great Western Express was the best and had the most powder. The Black Diamonds and the Sunset runs (green) were the best
