Mount Snow Reviews & Tips (55)
Hadn't been to Mount Snow for 5 years. Back then I thought it was boring and not very scenic, being mostly intermediate cruisers with hardly any bumps or other interesting alternatives. This time I found the mountain MUCH IMPROVED with lots of bumps and scenic trails through woods while retaining a wide choice of easier groomed trails for people who prefer them. I will definitely come again.

Mt. Snow was great Mountain. This was my first time here and I'll defiently be back. I couldn't of asked for a better time plus Liftopia was offering the best deal very hard to pass up. Will be back next year :)

Mount Snow is awesome, they have so many good trails (north face) and many good glades, only the bluebird line is very long but you can go to the summit lift right next to it. Carinthia is a boss terrain park. Otherwise mount snow is the best mountain ever.
Mount Snow review written Mar 31 2013 - 06:41 AM
Mount Snow was awesome. We hit fresh powder and loved it. If you like to chat with other skiers the Bluebird lift is ideal. Consider skiing Stratton and Mount Snow because they're not that far apart.

Skiing this past weekend was great although some trail were closed, as they just picked up 11 inches, spring skiing should come end of april.
Mount Snow review written Mar 19 2013 - 07:46 PM
If you are going on the weekend, skip the bluebird express lift because the lines can be long. A hundred feet away is the uncovered 4 person lift that services the summit, which is equally as fast as the bluebird, albeit a little colder and windier but it has a fraction of the line that the bluebird does. With the uncovered lift, I never had to wait more than a few minutes to get on (half the time I didn't even have to wait) and I was able to get a ton of runs in even on a fairly busy weekend day.

Couldn't have been a better day for skiing at Mount Snow this past Tuesday! Picking up the tickets at the window was a breeze and SO worth the money. I would never pay full price ticket to ski at this point in the winter. Conditions were fabulous and the lift lines went fast - the new Blue bird lift is so comfortable and we never had to put the bubble down because the sun was shining and the temps were perfect!

Overall, not a bad mountain and we had a lot of fun. Killington is a little better, but further drive for us from PA. We stayed at Bear Crossing, so we could ski right back to condo if we wanted. The only negative thing I can say about Mt.Snow is about the bartender, who had a pony tail but has cut it this year (2013). Completely rude and lazy. We'd be standing DIRECTLY in front of him, money in hand, and he would ignore us. And we're not a bunch of young punks.

Mount Snow is a great place in Southern Vermont to ski and well worth a trip. I Got a fantastic deal on midweek tickets through Liftopia & it felt like we had the whole mountain to ourselves. Tips: Go mid week for great deals and no crowds. Free bag check in the lodge is great. $2 slope side Ski/board check is well worth it. Hit Grizzlys' for an Apres beer on the deck.
Mount Snow review written Feb 18 2013 - 02:46 PM
Using Liftopia for advance purchase was excellent. It was so easy and everything was so quick at the ticket window.
Mount Snow review written Feb 18 2013 - 12:36 PM
My sons and a friend, who are skiers, used the Liftopia learn to snowboard package to try snowboarding a couple of days ago. The instructor was great and the package was a terrific deal. They all had a good time and were able to make turns on the boards by day's end.
Mount Snow review written Jan 16 2013 - 02:39 PM
Great time and the snow was amazing. Three feet of new snow and the guns were running all day. Stay away from the bubble longest line during the weekend. All the mountain was amazing. Glades where filled with powder.

Mount Snow had lots of trails open and LOTS of fun things happening on St. Pattie's Day weekend! Fun people and the Bluebird Express lift was aweseome-fast, comfortable, and quiet....I recommend making a weekend of it though to get 2 ski days in and stay locally as there are many places within minutes of the Mountain. We stayed at the Inn at Sawmill Farm on Crosstown Rd. and it was fantastic!!! Highly recommended!!!
Mount Snow review written Mar 19 2012 - 03:17 PM
Bluebird Express was a nice lift but I prefer gondolas! Due to lack of snow there wasn't much change in terrain - even on black diamond runs. My husband and I arrived on March 10th and found the manmade snow to be ok but a lot of trails were super icy. Compared to the other mountains we've been to this year, I would say Mt Snow lacks in lift/trail signage and the ski/boarding etiquette. People will plow you right over and not think twice about it – people also pulled off the trails in the worst locations causing you to stop dead in your tracks (on far less than perfect conditions this is dangerous!) Not cool! We decided that our second day of skiing/boarding was going to involve their terrain park (Corinthia)…this MUST be the draw to this mountain. The park is incredible. Overall, unless I’m feeling the need for a terrain park I don’t think we’ll be back to Mt Snow. The whole environment lacked FUN and thrills…it was just an “ok” couple days. For short trips from MA – I’ll see you at Loon!

Can't say enough good things about the Bluebird Express and am telling all my skier friends to not miss it. Liftopia is a big help. I spread the word to my son, niece and nephew and they all just tried it. Thanks, we needed that.
Mount Snow review written Mar 08 2012 - 02:12 PM
When its busy (and not too cold), ski the North Face. Nice trails and no lift lines!
Mount Snow review written Mar 06 2012 - 02:39 PM
great mountain, great skiing. wish they would open more lifts during the week, especially Sundance. I couldn't find a trail map anywhere. Finally found one in the base lodge, over by the cafeteria. why not put them by the doors, or at the ticket window?
Mount Snow review written Mar 05 2012 - 06:38 AM
Love Mt. Snow, learned to ski there about 12 years ago and enjoy going back every year. Particularly like their snow guarantee. If you don't like the conditions, show-up at guest services before 10:00 am, tell them you're not happy and they'll give you a voucher to be used anythime within a year; nice touch! This was also my frst time using liftopia, saved about $75 on a 3 day pass, I'll be back!

I enjoyed Mt Snow very much. I got a great ticket deal for Feb 29, 2012.
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
The indoor features ( restaurants, restrooms, ski/snowboard shops ) were very clean and inviting.
The runs are so well laid out.
I have been snowboarding since the boards were made out of plywood. Mt. Snow is top on my list from this season on.

Great mountain. Free bag check in lodge. Grumpy male bartender balanced by good food. Take your own helmet; $12 a day rental made me laugh out loud. The new Bubble Lift is awesome: 6 people at a time with a wind guard. Nice upgrade. We've been going to SN for abot 6 years.
Mount Snow review written Mar 01 2012 - 04:39 PM
if north face is open hit it early in the day its always in good shape. mt snow does a great job grooming. we go to mt snow every year
Mount Snow review written Feb 15 2012 - 04:08 PM
wide mountain with enough lifts and trails to keep you busy. no natural snow so now double diamonds were open. bar is fun, great mac and cheese bar for lunch too!
Mount Snow review written Feb 06 2012 - 02:33 PM
Friendly staff, no wait for lifts. Had the mountain to ourselves on Monday. Considering the winter they've had, the slope conditions were good. Loved, loved the bubble lift. Liftopia prices saved us a few bucks too.
Mount Snow review written Jan 25 2012 - 02:19 PM
My tip is dont go to the mountain! If you decide to go whatever u do try not deal with guest services! If you do have to deal with guest services avoid Alex the asian fellow! He was extremely disrespectful and not curteous to me as a customer. On the other hand Liftopia ROCKS! They made up for the poor experience I had with guest services! Cant wait to give them my business again!
Mount Snow review written Jan 24 2012 - 03:28 PM
Loved it! Parking and lodge locations are not very intuitive from the street, but easy enough to get to the right place. Staff was friendly, lines were non-existant, and trails were a blast! Uncles was absolutely my favorite. Some of the runs were not open because of the winter we've had so far, but they made enough snow to make the day well worth the trip. Had first tracks on some runs. Can't wait to go back!

We love Mount Snow! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful this trip- I used the repair shop and was pleasantly surprised by their help. Also I had to use the help of the mountain staff to locate my son and he was reunited with me within 10 minutes. They were very helpful and supportive and definitely competent. All the people running the lifts were also very friendly. I would definitely come again.
Mount Snow review written Jan 18 2012 - 02:55 PM
went last week - good deal on the ticket and Blue Bird chair is super smooth, clean and "bubbly" - but due to lack of natural snow the cross trails/glades that connect the more vertical trails were closed :( - so basically skied the same few trails all day. Cuzzin's pub has nice atmosphere and views of the hill, reasonably priced beer on tap...
Mount Snow review written Jan 10 2012 - 01:27 PM
The Blue bird lift is so wonderful. Having the blue bubble to block the wind just makes skiing more fun! No more freezing on the lifts! You can stay out longer and enjoy the slopes. This was the best improvement ever. Congratulations Mount Snow, for knowing what skiers want and delivering!
Mount Snow review written Jan 08 2012 - 04:00 PM
Can never go wrong with the north face. Absolutely never has a line for the lift, even presidents weekend. They leave usually half or more of the trails ungroomed, and Ripcord (the only double diamond) is one of the steepest headwalls in the east. Many of the single diamond trails on the north face, if placed at other mountains would be considered double diamonds.
Mount Snow review written Jan 04 2012 - 11:28 AM
Bluebird lift is awesome.....if sunny, you can open shield. Bar automatically rises before you get off....
Mount Snow review written Dec 22 2011 - 03:32 PM
Get an early start and get parking and no lift lines.....After 9 am (even on a weekday), the lots can really fill up fast.....

Everything great--Friday snow--tremendous
Mount Snow review written Apr 04 2011 - 10:49 AM
Mt. Snow was packed for reggie fest. A lot of ice moguls that weren't that great, i wish there was more pow pow! Waffle hut is amazing!
Mount Snow review written Mar 30 2011 - 08:07 AM
Free bag check rocks. New chair lift coming with a wind shield. Move with the sun. Last 2 weekend were most righteous.
East coast skiing is definitely west coast skiing.
Skinny long sticks with killer edges as opposed to wide and rockered super long.
Mount Snow review written Mar 29 2011 - 06:25 PM
Overall decent mountain for intermediate skiers, north side is a good challenge... icy this time of year unless you have a warm day. Great Snowboard park! Pretty mellow place in the Spring.
Mount Snow review written Mar 29 2011 - 02:10 PM
Went mid week. Had the place to ourselves. This is a great place for spring riding!
Mount Snow review written Mar 27 2011 - 10:58 AM
Went up mid-week end of season and had the place just about to ourselves (brother and son). Amazed that so late in the season that most of the trails were open. We did two days worth of skiing in one day- Awesome
Mount Snow review written Mar 25 2011 - 03:00 PM
It was so crowded. I hope that along with the additional lift capacity next year, that Mount Snow also adds some additional runs. Otherwise its just going to be even more of a mob.
Mount Snow review written Mar 22 2011 - 02:14 PM
Great deal. Thanks for discount
Mount Snow review written Mar 21 2011 - 02:16 PM
What an amazing mountain! Came up with a bunch of friends for St. Patty's Day and enjoyed the ticket price and slopes. PERFECT Spring riding conditions! The lifts were crowded, but it was to be expected with the holiday. Highlight of the trip was Carinthia. In all my years of snowboarding, I have never come across such a nice terrain park. A whole mountain dedicated to parks?! INSANE! I will definitely be returning to hit up all the goodness Mt. Snow has to offer!
Mount Snow review written Mar 19 2011 - 03:09 PM
Great place to ski, except Saturdays - too many bus/tours. The trails, slopes, snow making & grooming are fantastic. The staff are 1st rate, always helpful and you can't beat the FREE bag check area. Good pizza, burittos & beer in the base lodge. Been coming here for 25 years+ ...
Mount Snow review written Mar 16 2011 - 05:56 PM
Had great time! My 8 yr old son conquered Olympic (Black Diamond Run) and loved it. Conditions were good for spring skiing. Can't wait for the new bubble chair. I like the fact that boarders have their own mountain area to play on. Makes family skiing more relaxing and safe... See you there next year!!!!!
Mount Snow review written Mar 15 2011 - 06:06 PM
It rained/iced the 2 days we rode there, but we had the park to ourselves. Nicely maintained and it held up to the crappy weather. Love it there, relaxing and still challenging. I go every year at least once - from NY.
Mount Snow review written Mar 14 2011 - 07:54 AM
Carinthia is THE PLACE to be if you snowboard.
Mount Snow review written Mar 11 2011 - 04:03 PM
Mt' hit by freak ice storm the other day and only 3 lifts and about 6 trails open. Very limiting. Management should have comped patrons with some sort of voucher, nothing big but acknowledging how poor a product they offered that day. Would have made a nice impression. Thanks.
Mount Snow review written Mar 10 2011 - 02:35 PM
I love this mountain. I learned to snowboard here and the instructors were super helpful and very patient. There's many different trails on different parts of the mountain that you can try depending on your skill level. The North Face is great for Advanced, while the Main Face provides a number of blues and greens with varying difficulties. Also, Carinthia - a snowboard park - is perfect for those that want to pull a few tricks.
Mount Snow review written Mar 10 2011 - 02:09 PM
Love it here. Skiied over the weekend in 22" of fresh powder! It was awesome.
Mount Snow review written Mar 02 2011 - 08:57 AM
I agreethat there are many out of controll skiiers and snowboarders at Mt. Snow, but if you take the time to learn the mountain, you will find uncrowded slopes. Perfect for family skiing trips. The entire mountain is skiable for almost every level.
Mount Snow review written Feb 22 2011 - 04:40 AM
Great Mountain if you love to ride glades and powder but there are a lot better places in VT to go for groomed trails. Not too difficult of a mountain so good place for beginners. Overall not a bad place but wouldn't go back.
Mount Snow review written Feb 04 2011 - 12:42 PM
Doug Ashworth is a great private snowboard instructor. He is very knowledgeable of riding and was very helpful. I recommend MT Snow’s snowboard school private lessons if you are looking for knowledgeable instructors. (Ask for Doug)

This is one awesome place. Been going since I was 4, I'm 14 now. It has great family time, and with all the snowmaking, relatively fast service, it's worth it. Best place eVeR~
Mount Snow review written Oct 17 2010 - 03:32 PM
Southern VT's finest...I grew up skiing here. Check out the North Face and hanging on Bear Trap is fun on a sunny day.
Mount Snow review written Sep 14 2010 - 06:19 PM
This resort is amazing with its wide open cruisers and generous amount of blue terrain. Fear not Advanced skiers the North Face should combat any steep slope withdrawals. Regardless it's a great family mountain and keeps getting better with regard to snowmaking since the ownership changed two seasons ago. Hope you give it a chance
