Mount Shasta Ski Park is a ski resort located close to Oregon in northern California with 32 runs, 4 lifts, and 425 acres of land. Mount Shasta caters to both advanced and novice skiers and snowboarders, as 20% of the terrain is for beginners and 25% is for more advanced riders. The left ridge, Mount Ridge, is an ideal location... for learning with long runs and gentle slopes. The right ridges have more advanced terrain with bumps, gulches, and glades. Intermediates will have their hand full from groomed trails dedicated to them on both sides of the resort. Mount Shasta provides freestyle lovers with three terrain parks complete with a superpipe. In addition, night skiing, snowmaking, and slopeside dining all make their appearance. At the base of the beautiful Mount Shasta, you’ll be satisfied with the experience and the variety of slope gradients to explore. Read more

Reviews & Tips (3)
Shasta is the perfect beginner/young family mountain. It boasts long easy runs wide open for those just learning. It is perfect for keeping track of the kids and meeting up with the other kids. A small mountain with not much steep terrain or exciting. It will do in a pinch if you are nearby and for some reason you find yourself there with a foot a fresh fluff but for any experienced skier or boarder you may get bored quickly.

If you can go to Tahoe or Mt. Bachelor and do some REAL skiing. Unlike the other tip their easy runs are not intermediate run as at other resorts. To the contrary Mt. Shasta's black diamond runs would be rated intermediate runs at other resorts and their intermediate would be rated beginner runs. One other note, Mt. Shasta's grooming is much to be desired. Another words lousy!!! Their groomers need to take a lesson from the groomer crews in the Tahoe area. Also their customer service is atrocious.

Shasta is a fun place to go, with competitive rates.
I would not recommend Shasta for beginners. The rental equipment is extremely poor (Frankenstein Boots), and the "easy" runs would probably be labeled intermediate runs at other resorts.
