Maine Huts and Trails Ski Report, Mountain Conditions and Resort Statistics
Welcome to Maine Huts & Trails, Maine’s newest, year-round outdoor adventure destination. We’re located in the beautiful and wild, western mountains region of Maine. In time, our system of backcountry eco-lodges connected by people-powered trails will stretch nearly 200 miles from near the New Hampshire border to the Moosehead Lake region.
Maine Huts & Trails was recently named as Maine’s best ... hut-to-hut adventure by Yankee Magazine’s editors’ Choice and Flagstaff Hut was also noted as Maine’s “best lakeside lodging” in the same editors’ choice editorial (April 2011). Currently we offer 30 miles of trail corridor and three full-service lodges spaced a one days hike or ski apart from one another. During the winter, trails are groomed for both classic and skate cross country skiing. There are also miles of un-groomed snowshoe trails around each hut. During the spring, summer and fall the trails are available for hiking and mountain biking. There is never a trail fee to use our trails.
Two huts are on waterfront (one lake and one riverfront) offering swimming, fishing and paddle sport opportunities. Fall foliage, birding, orienteering and white water rafting are other activities that attract people to Maine Huts & Trails. The lodges offer warm comfortable beds, hot showers, and delicious home cooked meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner plus amazing backcountry hospitality. We even offer beer and wine. Come in for lunch or plan a multi-day hut-to-hut excursion.
We invite you to experience the most unique Maine vacation opportunity, offered year round, at Maine Huts & Trails. We are located between Carrabassett Valley and the Forks in the western mountains of the great State of Maine. Be sure to plan your Maine vacation at Maine Huts & Trails. Read more
