Overview
The Strafford Nordic Center is open in our temporary lodge located a 53 Rockbottom Rd in Strafford, Vermont. Our intention is to build a new lodge next summer to house the rental equipment, office, ticketing and public space.
Our initial 20 kilometer trail system is the backbone for a proposed 50 kilometer trail system being created on two locally owned... well known farms. The base lodge and trail head are located at Rockbottom Farm, a working organic dairy farm and home of the Strafford Organic Creamery. Scenic ski trails are hosted on Rockbottom Farm's spacious fields and rolling hills. Additional trails are hosted on Tamarack Hill Farm, long known for its high level equestrian training, gorgeous scenery and challenging terrain. While enjoying a day of skiing on these two majestic Vermont farms, take in the long range views of Vermont and New Hampshire from the ridge line on the Outer Loop trail. If cruising is more your style, try out the the rolling fields and winding woods trails. Whichever type of skier you are, we have the trails you've been waiting for.
The Strafford Nordic Center will be hosting races and special events as we continue to grow and develop within the world of cross country skiing and biathlon. Our rental ski program is based on the Salomon Pilot System. We worked with Salomon to come up with the most versatile ski package to meet the specific needs of our skiers. When you come ski with us, if you need rental skis, we've got the latest technology.
In November 2011 we hosted our Inaugural 5K Turkey Trot Trail Run/Walk, which turned into a ski and snowshoe race due to the early snow storm!
