March 5th through 7th 2014 - Phenomenal! The cold spell snapped the day we arrived and then it snowed and snowed. We skied Lake Louise on the first day when the snow was just beginning. Great mountain with no lines on that day. We skied the next two days at Sunshine as they received twice the powder dump as did Lake Louise. Skiing was epic. As our legs were being challenged we spent the last day at Norquay. Snow conditions were very good and the sun came out!. They have two great mogul runs. The runs are a nice length, steep without flat spots we were glad to rest on the chair more often. Norquay is a must for the views. Bring your camera.

Skied Sunshine and Lake Louise two days each Feb 25-28, 2014. Bitterly cold-sub 0 C, plenty of sunshine first 2 days, then cloudy next two. Tip #1- take many pix when the Sun shines! Never know what the next day will bring. Tip#2- don't rely on a US GPS unit to get you around to the slopes-they think Lake Louise is on a street in Calgary! Get a real paper MAP. Tip #3-get a rental w/ unlimited miles because you will drive a lot- we did almost 1000 miles (not kms) in 8 days. Tip #4- PRINT OUT your Liftopia voucher because the person behind the counter may not accept your pleas and sad excuses for not having it handy. Tip #5- definitely ride the platter lift to get into the back bowl at LL-it is so worth the drag up the hill! Both mtns are awesome- Sunshine more open.

Spring skiing is awesome there as the temperatures are much warmer and everything is covered in snow. Of course depth of base is key to good skiing at any resort.

We skied at Sunshine and Lake Louise for two days each and one day at Mt. Norquay in last week of December 2010. The weather was mild during the first three days and the snow was OK. There were many places where rocks were exposed. The last two days and after some fresh snow was bitterly cold with the temperature at -24C at the base of the mountain! If you go, don't spend any time in Mt. Norquay. It has only a few runs. Lake Louise is beautiful, and I like to go back and see it in summer time.

we visited Banff in February and it was freezing! Also did not like that you had to drive each day to ski- no ski in/ski out lodging. We have found Fernie Alpine Resort to be the best for ski in/ski out lodging and the most snow in the Canadian Rockies!
