Whistler Blackcomb Reviews & Tips (16)

This is my family's first time to Whistler. The drive to the resort was very nice and easy. A bit of surprising at arrival with the village being cleared of snow. Was concerned if the ski ground was on the verge of closing and we would loose our money on the ski lift tickets purchased in advanced online. But the surprise was on top of the mountain. The scenery was entirely different after riding the gondola to the peak. The snow condition was amazing. There were so many routes and lifts to take, we discovered the wonder routes. We took the steep sampler, the Harmony sampler and the Crystal sampler. The greeters/staff were very helpful. Also, there were free tours daily offered to different level of skier ranging from easy to advance. My family took the advanced level tour and it was amazing. We got to go to the very top of the mountain. The gondola and all the lifts were very comfortable and easy to connect. Definitely will return especially during the full swing winter season.

We found the Blackcomb side to be less crowded both on the slopes and the lodges. I think many people go there to ski "Whistler", when Blackcomb has everything Whistler offers w/o the mass people. We stayed in Creekside and found the Peak to Peak an easy ride to "Seventh Heaven" and it is!

This place is amazing. So many runs open for all levels of skiers. Awesome apres ski and so many great hotels to choose from. Don't rent a car. Parking is very expensive per day($45), you need snow tires and everything you could want is in the village. We used KJ Limousine to pick us up at the airport and bring us to Whistler and return, beautiful scenery, great service, and friendly driver. I would definitely ski there again and would use KJ Limousine again too.

This was an amazing experience. I took a snowboard lesson at Whistler and loved it, I was able to shred down the mountain the next day. Ok well maybe not shred because it was snowing and my first time in Powder on a snowboard but I loved every minute. The views are stunning and the peak to peak gondola is a must do. In my naivety I did not realize that it was actually two mountains at first, being from Florida will do that. Loved it!

Definitely take the FREE avalanche course, which you can do for FREE at 12:30 on the Blackcomb side starting at the avalanche hut (next to Peak to Peak Gondola). Great way to meet people and learn the mountain. Also eat the delicious loaded waffles in the Crystal Lodge. Loved Blackcomb Glacier, Spanky's Ladder and Flute Bowl ??????????????????

When it's good... it's REALLY good. I have had some of the most epic days ever at Whistler, my personal favorites are 7th heaven in the glades, Symphony & Harmony Ridge and of course, one of my favs Blackcomb glacier. My tip, don't go on BC family day weekend... the gondola lines were atrocious! The longest ever in 30 years of skiing! It was also a Saturday with 40 cm the night before! Epic powder! , but ake chair lifts to mid-station gondola. Merlin's on the Blackcomb side and Fitzsimmons Chair on Whistler.

Yes, the conditions can be hit or miss but when it's good it's REALLY good. I have had some of the most epic rides ever at Whistler, my personal favorites are 7th heaven in the trees, Harmony Ridge and of course, the Blackcomb glacier (though I do wish they would replace that t-bar lift to the glacier access. My tip is straightforward, the gondola lines get OFF THE HOOK by 8:30 on the weekends, particularly when the snow conditions are good. Take the chair lifts instead. Merlin's on the Blackcomb side and Fitzsimmons Chair to Garbanzo on Whistler.

Outgoing, friendly staff. The mountains are bigger than you can imagine. You could ski/ride 8 hours/day for a week and not go on the same run twice. The vibe on the mountain and in the village is great. Plus, there are so many other things to do besides ski/snowboard: cross country, snow shoeing, visiting the Olympic sites (the bobsled track is my personal favorite), etc. I recommend getting a plate of poutine and the largest, most over the top Bloody Mary you have ever seen at Merlin's. It's a winter paradise!! But it is expensive, so save your pennies for a year before you go.

This is by far my favorite resort! I have traveled around but still Whistler is the best! I make sure to visit once a year. The boarding/skiing is great but the village is great too! A true winter vacation. The runs a are long and the day goes by fast so bring protein bars to keep in your jacket. My one tip don't waste time eating just eat the bars. Don't miss any quality run time! You can eat when your done :)

love Whistler - been going for close to 30 years plus made it to the Olympics. Its a big resort in all ways including price. But since its within 4 1/2 hours driving distance from home - we ending comparing all other resorts to it. Be prepared for "marine" climate skiing which can be plentiful, wet and foggy. There are runs for all abilities - what is great is that everyone can go to the very top of both mountains and have a green cruzier all the way down which is rare. Most mountains reserve the top for only the exclusive expert skiers.

We've been coming here every January for the past 7 years. Still finding new runs and it is now like our second home. Ski Esprit program (it changes its name but the bookings office will know what you mean if you ask for it) is a fantastic mix of guided tour of the mountain, tuition and socialising. Love the place!

Had a great weekend here last March... probably some of the longest runs that will crush your legs but the views, turns, terrain, and celebratory beers make it all worth it. I'll be visiting again soon!

Get a ski lesson, instructors are excellent and it is a good way to learn such a big mountain. Great mountain, would go again. Staff at mountain were great, helpful and friendly.

My children had the best 2 week ski experience with an instructor from Blackcomb named Athea. If possible parents should book her for child lessons!

Always...always ask for Rick Brown when ski lessons are involved at Whistler/Blackcomb. There is no better ski teacher or guide.

There is a tubing park - at Base 2 on Blackcomb, separate ticket required. New this season - free Wi-Fi available in the larger on-mountain restaurants and mountain owned slope side bars. If you want to take a (daily) lesson, tae a Max 4 lesson on Blackcomb - they're the best group of instructors.
